Verify Your CDL Class Before Applying
United Rentals Delivery Driver postings frequently require a valid commercial driver's license, often Class A or B. Confirm your CDL is current and transferable to U.S. standards before submitting applications, since licensing gaps can stall an offer.
Target Branch Locations with Active Openings
United Rentals operates hundreds of branches nationwide, and hiring demand varies by region. Focus your applications on branches in construction-heavy markets like Texas, Florida, and the Gulf Coast, where equipment delivery volume drives consistent driver demand.
Browse Verified Sponsoring Roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Delivery Driver openings at United Rentals by the visa type you need. This cuts through postings that don't explicitly confirm sponsorship and surfaces roles where United Rentals has an active sponsorship track record.
Align Your Resume to DOT Compliance Experience
United Rentals operates under Department of Transportation regulations for commercial vehicle operations. Resumes that highlight hours-of-service compliance, pre-trip inspection routines, and hazmat awareness stand out against candidates with general driving backgrounds.
Ask HR to Initiate PERM Early for EB Pathways
If you're targeting a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 category, PERM labor certification timelines run 12 to 18 months or longer. Raise the green card pathway conversation during offer negotiation, not after your first year, so DOL filing can begin without delay.
Clarify OPT Cap-Gap Coverage Before Your Start Date
F-1 students transitioning into a Delivery Driver role on OPT need to confirm their I-20 end date and any cap-gap extension period. USCIS cap-gap rules protect your work authorization only if an H-1B petition was filed on your behalf before OPT expired.

Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Delivery Drivers?
United Rentals has sponsored H-1B visas across its workforce, including operational roles. For Delivery Driver positions specifically, sponsorship eligibility depends on whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team during the interview stage, as not every branch posting will include H-1B support.
How do I apply for Delivery Driver jobs at United Rentals?
You can browse and apply for Delivery Driver openings directly through United Rentals' careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles where your work authorization needs are already confirmed. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight CDL credentials, equipment handling experience, and any DOT compliance background, since these are the qualifications United Rentals prioritizes for this role.
Which visa types are commonly used for Delivery Driver roles at United Rentals?
United Rentals has supported a range of visa categories for its workforce, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. For Delivery Driver roles, TN status can be a practical option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations, while EB-3 is often the most accessible Green Card route for skilled or semi-skilled positions that don't require an advanced degree.
What qualifications does United Rentals expect for sponsored Delivery Driver roles?
United Rentals typically requires a valid commercial driver's license for Delivery Driver positions, along with a clean driving record and familiarity with heavy or aerial equipment. Experience operating within DOT regulatory frameworks, including pre-trip inspections and hours-of-service logging, strengthens your candidacy. Some postings also require forklift certification or prior experience in a rental, construction, or industrial logistics environment.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Delivery Driver position at United Rentals?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa category. H-1B standard processing runs six to eight months, though premium processing through USCIS can reduce that to 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the U.S. border on the day of travel. Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification add 12 to 18 months or more before the underlying petition is filed, so starting that conversation at offer stage is important.
