ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex Tools and Specialty Equipment at branch or customer locations involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and hoisting
- Perform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
- Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
- Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed
- When required travel to customer site for repair/maintenance of rental or owned equipment
- May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repair
- Other duties assigned as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty Tools
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
- Working knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers’ warranty access; and work order/time spent accounting
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
