Align your credentials with insurance licensing requirements
Most Insurance Collector roles at USI require or prefer a state insurance license. Research which states USI is actively hiring in and confirm your eligibility to sit for licensing exams, since visa status affects some state board requirements.
Target USI branch offices in sponsorship-friendly states
USI operates across dozens of states with varying hiring activity for Insurance Collector positions. Focus your outreach on offices in states with stronger insurance industry infrastructure, where internal approval for sponsorship tends to move faster through regional HR.
Clarify your visa type early in recruiter conversations
USI has sponsored candidates on E-3, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for this role type. Tell recruiters your specific visa category upfront so they can route your file to the team that handles the relevant filing process, avoiding delays late in the offer stage.
Secure OPT authorization before your job search starts
If you are on F-1 status, confirm your OPT start date through your DSO well before applying. USI's hiring timeline for Insurance Collector roles can span several weeks, and a gap between your OPT authorization and your start date can complicate the offer process.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Insurance Collector openings at USI
Insurance Collector listings at large brokerages cycle frequently and are not always easy to track. Search Migrate Mate to surface current USI Insurance Services openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you are applying to roles actively open to your visa category.
Confirm LCA wage compliance matches your offer before signing
For E-3 and TN filings, USI's employer team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Review the LCA details carefully before your offer letter is finalized to avoid renegotiating after filing begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Insurance Collectors?
USI Insurance Services has not been a consistent H-1B visa sponsor for Insurance Collector roles specifically. The company's sponsorship activity for this function has centered on other visa categories including E-3 visa, F-1 OPT, and TN visa. If H-1B visa sponsorship is your primary need, clarify the position's eligibility directly with USI's HR team before progressing through the interview process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Insurance Collector roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored Insurance Collector candidates on E-3 visas for Australian nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for current students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 visas. The right category depends on your nationality and current status. E-3 and TN are often the fastest paths because they do not require USCIS petition approval in the same way H-1B does.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Insurance Collector roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI typically looks for candidates with experience in accounts receivable, billing operations, or insurance premium processing. Familiarity with commercial insurance workflows and agency management systems is an advantage. Some positions prefer an associate or bachelor's degree in a business-related field, though demonstrated collections or billing experience in the insurance industry can carry significant weight in the evaluation process.
How do I apply for Insurance Collector jobs at USI Insurance Services?
You can find active Insurance Collector openings at USI Insurance Services through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm the role is open to your visa category before applying. When you apply, note your visa status clearly in your application or initial outreach to ensure your file reaches the correct HR team handling sponsorship-eligible candidates.
How do I understand the hiring and filing timeline for a sponsored Insurance Collector role at USI?
For E-3 and TN categories, the employer files an LCA with the DOL before your visa application can proceed, which typically takes one to two weeks. F-1 OPT candidates need active work authorization in place before their start date. Build at least four to six weeks of lead time between an accepted offer and your intended start date to allow for LCA certification and any consular appointment scheduling if you are applying from outside the United States.
