Frame your book of business for U.S. markets
USI VP Sales roles require demonstrated revenue ownership, not just team management. Before applying, translate your pipeline metrics, retention rates, and client portfolio into U.S.-market language so hiring managers can benchmark your impact against domestic candidates.
Confirm your visa type fits VP Sales
E-3 and TN visas require the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. A VP Sales position at an insurance firm typically qualifies, but you'll want your offer letter to specify a degree requirement in business, finance, or a related field to support that classification.
Target regional offices with open territory
USI operates through a decentralized regional structure, so VP Sales openings vary significantly by geography and practice area. Prioritize locations where USI has active growth mandates in commercial lines or employee benefits, since those offices are more likely to move quickly on sponsorship.
Align your timeline with LCA filing requirements
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your visa petition can proceed. Build at least three to four weeks of LCA processing time into your start date negotiations so your first day isn't delayed by a filing gap.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active VP Sales openings
USI posts VP Sales roles across multiple regions at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter for USI Insurance Services openings that are actively sponsoring, so you're targeting live roles rather than positions that have already closed or paused hiring.
Prepare for a consultative insurance sales interview
USI VP Sales interviews typically probe your ability to grow middle-market or large-account commercial insurance revenue. Document specific examples of cross-selling specialty lines, managing producer teams, and retaining clients through policy renewals before you get to the offer stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for VP Saless?
USI Insurance Services' primary sponsored visa types for VP Sales roles include the E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and J-1 visa, rather than the H-1B visa. If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 visa is the most direct path since it bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa category. Confirming which visa type applies to your nationality before applying helps set realistic expectations with the hiring team.
How do I apply for VP Sales jobs at USI Insurance Services?
You can browse and apply for VP Sales roles at USI Insurance Services directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is actively supported. When applying, tailor your resume to emphasize revenue leadership, client acquisition, and insurance industry expertise. Disclosing your visa requirements early in the process helps avoid delays once you reach the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for VP Sales roles at USI Insurance Services?
The visa types USI Insurance Services has sponsored for this function include the E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates completing their practical training period, and J-1 for qualifying exchange visitors. The E-3 and TN are generally the most practical for senior sales roles since they don't require lottery selection and can be processed at a U.S. consulate without USCIS adjudication.
What qualifications and experience are expected for VP Sales roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI typically seeks VP Sales candidates with substantial commercial insurance sales experience, a track record of managing producer teams, and demonstrated ability to grow revenue in middle-market or large-account segments. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field is generally required to support specialty occupation classification for visa purposes. Experience across commercial lines, employee benefits, or specialty programs strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a VP Sales role at USI Insurance Services?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 applicants typically schedule a consular interview in Australia and receive a decision within a few weeks of the appointment, making it one of the faster paths. TN candidates may be processed at the border or a consulate. In all cases, your employer needs to complete a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your visa application can proceed, so factor that into your start date planning.
