Frame your insurance credentials for U.S. licensing
Most New Business Development roles at USI require or expect state insurance producer licenses. Research which lines of authority apply to your target role before applying, and clarify whether USI will sponsor you while you pursue licensure post-hire.
Target USI's specialty and middle-market divisions
USI's New Business Development hiring concentrates in commercial lines, employee benefits, and specialty programs. Candidates with a book of business or sector expertise in those lines get further faster than generalists, especially in regions with active pipeline growth.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
USI's recruiters screen for location and authorization fit before advancing candidates. Confirm your visa type upfront and ask specifically whether the hiring branch has a history of filing for this role, so you don't invest in a process that stalls at offer stage.
Build your application around revenue attribution
USI evaluates New Business Development hires on pipeline generation and closed premium, not just relationship management. Quantify your contribution to new client acquisition in prior roles so hiring managers can assess your fit against internal production benchmarks.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
New Business Development openings at USI span multiple states and divisions, and sponsorship availability varies by office. Search and filter by visa category on Migrate Mate to find the positions where your visa type is actively supported.

Find New Business Development at USI Insurance Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for New Business Developments?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored work visas for New Business Development roles, but H-1B sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening. Sponsorship decisions depend on the specific branch, the role's budget, and timing relative to the H-1B cap season. If you're targeting an H-1B, raise the question with the recruiter before the final interview stage and confirm whether the hiring office has handled H-1B filings for this function before.
How do I apply for New Business Development jobs at USI Insurance Services?
Apply directly through USI's careers portal or find open roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. New Business Development positions at USI are posted by region and division, so search by both role title and location. Tailor your application to highlight new client acquisition metrics and any insurance producer licensing you hold, since those are the two factors USI screens for most heavily at the resume stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for New Business Development roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI has sponsored E-3 visas for Australian citizens, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, as well as J-1 visas in some cases. Each visa type has different employer obligations. E-3 and TN require a Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL. F-1 OPT requires E-Verify enrollment. Understanding which category fits your situation helps you target the right USI offices and speed up the offer process.
What qualifications and experience does USI Insurance Services expect for New Business Development roles?
USI typically looks for candidates with a background in insurance sales, commercial lines, or employee benefits, along with demonstrated ability to open new accounts rather than just manage existing ones. State insurance producer licensing is a recurring requirement across postings. Some roles emphasize a specific vertical such as construction, healthcare, or financial institutions. Candidates who can show measurable premium growth or a portable client pipeline receive stronger consideration at the interview stage.
How do I plan my visa timeline when pursuing a New Business Development offer at USI Insurance Services?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. E-3 and TN visas can typically be processed within four to eight weeks once USI completes the LCA filing with the DOL, making them faster paths than H-1B. If you're on F-1 OPT, account for the gap between your offer date and your OPT start date. USCIS premium processing is available for some categories and cuts adjudication to 15 business days, which can matter if your current status is expiring.
