INTRODUCTION
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
Plaid’s GTM Partnerships team unlocks “one to many” customer relationships with technology platforms to allow more end customers and consumers to benefit from Plaid’s solutions. Channel Sales Development managers are aligned with specific revenue segments, in this case supporting our banking and wealth partners. Plaid is looking for a Channel Business Development & Enablement Manager to help power growth through our partner ecosystem. In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of sales, marketing, and partnerships — working closely with partner GTM teams to drive pipeline, equip them with the tools and content they need to win, and ensure Plaid is the go-to choice for every relevant opportunity in a partner's book of business. You'll work in close partnership with senior members of the Partnerships and Sales teams, taking ownership of key workstreams while developing the skills to grow into a broader strategic partnerships sales or account management role over time.
Responsibilities
- Sales Enablement. Equip partner GTM teams with the training, content, and tools they need to effectively pitch and sell Plaid — including onboarding, ongoing education, and a library of sales assets like pitch decks and battle cards
- Pipeline Development. Collaborate with partner sales teams to drive pipeline growth through targeted campaigns, outbound strategies, and co-selling support, while maintaining visibility into partner-sourced and influenced opportunities
- Channel Management. Serve as the connective tissue between Plaid and its partner ecosystem — minimizing channel conflict, facilitating communication, and ensuring deal velocity is maintained across all partner relationships
- Strategic Insights & Feedback. Act as the voice of the partner internally, surfacing patterns in objections, competitive dynamics, and product gaps to key stakeholders across Product, Marketing, and GTM teams
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 years of experience in inside sales, SDR/BDR, partnerships, sales enablement, or a related GTM role — fintech or financial services experience is a plus
- Early track record of contributing to pipeline or revenue in a team-oriented sales environment
- Strong written communication skills with an ability to translate product and technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for sales audiences
- Organized and detail-oriented — comfortable managing multiple workstreams, maintaining CRM hygiene, and producing accurate pipeline reports
- Comfortable facilitating training sessions or enablement presentations in front of partner teams
- Collaborative and eager to learn — comfortable supporting senior teammates while also taking ownership of defined work independently
- Familiarity with the open banking, financial data, or payments ecosystem is a plus, but not required
- Working knowledge of APIs or a curiosity to understand how Plaid works under the hood
COMPENSATION
- Salary Range: $153,600 - $182,400 a year
The on-target earnings (OTE) for this position ranges from $153,600/year to $182,400/year in New York. The OTE range listed for this full-time position includes commission, but excludes equity and benefits. The pay range shown on each job posting is the minimum and maximum target for new-hire salaries. Actual pay may be higher or lower depending on factors like skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. Frame Your Experience Around Fintech Partnerships
Plaid's business development team focuses on API integrations, financial institution relationships, and developer-facing deals. Tailor your resume to show experience with technical product sales or strategic partnerships in financial services, not generic B2B sales.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Season
H-1B registration opens in March for an October start. If you're targeting a full-time offer at Plaid, aim to secure it by February so your employer can file during the registration window. Missing it means waiting another year.
Get Your LCA Terminology Right During Offer Negotiation
Plaid must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition. The LCA locks in your worksite and prevailing wage level, so clarify your primary office location before the offer is finalized to avoid amendments later.
Target Roles That Map to a Specialty Occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For business development at a fintech like Plaid, emphasize that the role requires a degree in business, finance, or a related field, not just sales experience. Job descriptions referencing strategic analysis or financial product knowledge support this.
Search Plaid's Open Roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter New Business Development openings at Plaid by visa type so you only see roles where sponsorship is confirmed. It removes the guesswork of cold-applying and lets you focus outreach on positions that match your authorization status.

Find New Business Development at Plaid JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Plaid sponsor H-1B visas for New Business Developments?
Yes, Plaid sponsors H-1B visas for New Business Development roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for this function, particularly for roles involving financial partnerships, enterprise sales strategy, and API ecosystem growth. If you receive an offer, confirm the sponsorship scope with the recruiting team before signing, as some roles may be structured differently depending on seniority or team.
How do I apply for New Business Development jobs at Plaid?
Apply directly through Plaid's careers page or browse verified openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. Tailor your application to emphasize fintech partnerships, developer ecosystem experience, or financial institution relationships. Plaid's hiring process for business development typically includes a recruiter screen, case-based interviews, and a final panel. Disclosing your visa status early in the process helps avoid delays at the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for New Business Development roles at Plaid?
Plaid sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for business development positions, along with EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. F-1 OPT is the most common starting point for recent graduates. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. H-1B is the primary path for longer-term employment authorization if you're outside those groups.
What qualifications does Plaid expect for New Business Development roles?
Plaid's business development team looks for experience in fintech, financial services, or developer-focused product sales. Most roles require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, which also supports H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. Experience working with APIs, banking infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS partnerships is a strong differentiator. Familiarity with how financial data connectivity works operationally sets strong candidates apart.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship process after receiving an offer from Plaid?
Once Plaid extends an offer, their immigration team typically coordinates with an outside counsel to file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL first, then the H-1B petition with USCIS. The LCA process takes around seven business days. If you're already on OPT, your start date can often be immediate. For H-1B cap-subject filings, the process runs March through October, so offer timing relative to the registration window matters significantly.
