Frame your pipeline experience in SaaS metrics
Datadog's New Business Development teams operate on SaaS KPIs like pipeline coverage, ARR contribution, and outbound sequence conversion. Before applying, reframe your CV around these metrics so hiring managers can immediately place you in their sales motion.
Target Datadog's enterprise segment openings first
Datadog segments its sales org by company size. Roles focused on mid-market or enterprise accounts tend to have longer hiring cycles but stronger sponsorship pathways, since headcount is planned further in advance and H-1B filing timelines are easier to accommodate.
Time your application around the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you're interviewing at Datadog in late 2025 or early 2026, make clear you understand this timeline. Employers can structure offers around it when candidates proactively raise it.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Datadog's open roles by visa type
Sponsorship eligibility varies by role level and location within Datadog's sales org. Use Migrate Mate to browse current New Business Development openings filtered specifically to visa-sponsoring positions so you're applying to roles with a confirmed sponsorship path.
Get your offer letter reviewed before the I-129 is filed
Once Datadog initiates your H-1B petition, USCIS will scrutinize whether a New Business Development role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Make sure your offer letter specifies degree requirements and job duties in technical enough terms to support that classification.

Find New Business Development at Datadog JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for New Business Developments?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for New Business Development roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record across its sales organization, including this function. One practical consideration: because New Business Development roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, your offer letter should specify the degree requirements and technical scope of the position clearly to support the petition.
How do I apply for New Business Development jobs at Datadog?
Applications go through Datadog's careers site, where New Business Development roles are listed under the Sales category. You can also browse current visa-sponsoring openings at Datadog through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Tailoring your application to Datadog's observability product suite and SaaS sales motion significantly improves your chances of moving forward.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for New Business Development roles?
Datadog sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for New Business Development positions, along with F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for eligible students and recent graduates. TN visas are also supported for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Datadog has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for employees in this function.
What qualifications does Datadog expect for New Business Development roles?
Datadog typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a technical field, combined with experience in outbound sales or business development within a SaaS or cloud environment. Familiarity with observability, DevOps tooling, or cloud infrastructure is a meaningful differentiator. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, having a degree in a relevant field strengthens the specialty occupation argument in your USCIS petition.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored role at Datadog?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the key deadline is the USCIS March registration window for an October 1 start date. Aim to have an offer finalized by February so Datadog's legal team has time to prepare your petition. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer can start your employment before October 1, and cap-gap protection can bridge any gap if your OPT expires while your petition is pending.
