Frame Your Background Around Technology Distribution
Ingram Micro's New Business Development roles sit inside a technology distribution and services business, not traditional consulting. Position your resume around partner ecosystems, channel sales, or vendor-driven growth rather than generalist business development experience.
Confirm Your Role Qualifies as Specialty Occupation
H-1B eligibility requires that your New Business Development role demands a specific bachelor's degree field. Before applying, verify the job posting specifies a degree requirement in business, marketing, or a related discipline, not just any bachelor's degree.
Time Your Application Around the H-1B Cap Cycle
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, you and Ingram Micro must act before the April 1 USCIS registration window. Target roles and initiate conversations with recruiters no later than January so there's runway to prepare your petition.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles Filtered by Sponsorship
Search Ingram Micro's New Business Development openings on Migrate Mate, which filters verified sponsoring employers so you're not guessing which postings will support a visa. Apply directly once you've confirmed a role matches your visa type.
Request a Clear Timeline Before Signing Your Offer
Ask Ingram Micro's HR team which filing pathway applies to your situation and when PERM or I-140 filings are typically initiated for business development hires. Knowing the internal process prevents surprises after you've already accepted and relocated.

Find New Business Development at Ingram Micro JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Ingram Micro sponsor H-1B visas for New Business Developments?
Yes, Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying New Business Development roles. The position must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, meaning it requires a specific bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business or marketing. You'll want to confirm the job posting's stated degree requirement before applying, as generalist postings can create complications during the petition process.
How do I apply for New Business Development jobs at Ingram Micro?
You can browse and apply for New Business Development roles at Ingram Micro through Migrate Mate, which surfaces open positions at verified visa-sponsoring employers. When applying, tailor your materials to Ingram Micro's technology distribution and channel services business. After submitting, expect an initial recruiter screen before moving into hiring manager interviews focused on partner development and revenue growth.
Which visa types does Ingram Micro commonly use for New Business Development hires?
Ingram Micro sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work visa for New Business Development roles, along with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students and recent graduates, and the company has an established Green Card pathway through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications for longer-tenured employees.
What qualifications does Ingram Micro expect for New Business Development roles?
Most New Business Development positions at Ingram Micro require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in channel sales, technology partnerships, or vendor-driven revenue growth. Familiarity with IT distribution or managed services is a meaningful differentiator. Roles at more senior levels typically expect a track record of building and managing enterprise or partner accounts within the technology sector.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a New Business Development hire at Ingram Micro?
If you're starting on F-1 OPT, Ingram Micro can begin employment immediately while preparing an H-1B petition for the next cap cycle, which runs April through October 1. Standard H-1B processing takes three to five months, with USCIS premium processing available to reduce that to around 15 business days. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically begins after you've established tenure and can take several years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
