Frame your credentials around specialty occupation requirements
Insurance sales roles qualify for visa sponsorship only when tied to a specific discipline, like risk management or employee benefits consulting. Ensure your degree field aligns with the specialty you're targeting at USI before applying.
Target USI's branch offices in high-volume states
USI operates regional branches across the country with varying hiring activity. Research which offices are actively posting Sales Professional openings, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the branch level, not centrally.
Disclose your visa type early in recruiter conversations
Insurance sales hiring moves fast and offer timelines can be tight. Tell USI's recruiter your visa type and authorization window upfront so the HR team can confirm whether their internal sponsorship process fits your situation before you advance.
Use Migrate Mate to filter USI sponsorship history by visa type
USI sponsors multiple visa categories for Sales Professionals, including E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Search USI Insurance Services on Migrate Mate to see which visa types have been used for this role and target your application accordingly.
Get your insurance licensing lined up before the offer stage
Most Sales Professional roles at USI require a state property and casualty or life and health license. If yours is pending, confirm with DOL that licensing timelines won't delay your Labor Condition Application filing for an H-1B or E-3 petition.
Understand how your OPT or grace period interacts with your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization end date against USI's expected onboarding timeline. USCIS allows a 60-day grace period after OPT expires, but you cannot work during it, so start dates must land within your valid work authorization window.

Find Sales Professional at USI Insurance Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Professionals?
USI Insurance Services does not appear in recent H-1B sponsorship records for Sales Professional roles. The company has sponsored other visa types for this function, including E-3 and F-1 OPT. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for you, raise it directly with USI's HR team early in the process, since sponsorship availability can vary by office and role specifics.
How do I apply for Sales Professional jobs at USI Insurance Services?
Applications go through USI's careers portal, where Sales Professional openings are listed by location and practice area. You can also find USI's open roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which lets you confirm sponsorship history for this specific role before applying. Tailor your application to the insurance specialty the branch focuses on, such as commercial lines or employee benefits.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Professional roles at USI Insurance Services?
USI Insurance Services has sponsored E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Sales Professional roles. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens and is a strong option for qualifying candidates. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories. F-1 OPT and CPT cover students on active academic programs, while J-1 covers certain exchange visitor programs.
What qualifications and experience does USI Insurance Services expect for Sales Professional roles?
USI typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field, along with demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships. Relevant insurance licensing, such as a property and casualty or life and health license, is usually required or expected within a set period after hire. Prior experience in insurance sales, financial services, or consultative B2B selling strengthens a candidacy significantly.
How do I know if my visa timeline is compatible with USI's hiring process?
USI's Sales Professional hiring process typically runs several weeks from application to offer. If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your remaining authorization window covers the expected start date with no gap. For E-3 or TN candidates, consular processing can add two to six weeks after an offer is extended. Align your timeline with USI's HR team before accepting so the Labor Condition Application and any petition filings can proceed without delays.
