Tailor your resume to field sales
Vivint's Sales Professional roles center on door-to-door residential sales, so highlight any direct-to-consumer or field sales experience. Quota attainment numbers and territory coverage carry more weight here than account management or B2B credentials.
Confirm your visa type fits seasonal timelines
Vivint's field sales hiring often follows seasonal demand cycles. H-2B authorization is tied to temporary need periods defined in the petition, so verify your visa status covers the full contract window before accepting an offer.
Prepare your OPT or CPT documentation early
Vivint sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for Sales Professional roles, but your DSO must authorize employment before your start date. Request your EAD or CPT authorization letter well ahead of your target start to avoid delays after an offer.
Ask recruiters about the E-Verify process upfront
As a large employer, Vivint uses E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Confirm at the offer stage exactly which documents you'll need to present for Form I-9 so your first-day onboarding isn't held up by a document mismatch.
Target markets where Vivint is actively expanding
Vivint staffs Sales Professionals in suburban and residential growth markets. Research which regional territories have open roles and signal geographic flexibility in your application. Hiring managers in high-growth markets move faster through the interview and offer process.
Browse open roles through Migrate Mate
Vivint posts Sales Professional openings across multiple markets at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Vivint roles that are open to visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not assumed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Vivint sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Professionals?
Vivint's sponsorship activity for Sales Professional roles is concentrated in H-2B, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT rather than H-1B visa. H-1B sponsorship is typically reserved for specialty occupations requiring a directly related bachelor's degree, and field sales roles at Vivint generally do not meet that threshold. If H-1B is your primary pathway, it's worth clarifying with the recruiter before investing time in the process.
How do I apply for Sales Professional jobs at Vivint?
You can find open Sales Professional positions at Vivint through the company's careers site or through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship. The hiring process typically involves a phone screen, one or more interviews focused on your sales track record, and a background check before an offer is extended. Having your work authorization documents ready early will speed up onboarding.
Which visa types does Vivint commonly use for Sales Professional roles?
Vivint has sponsored Sales Professionals on H-2B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. H-2B covers temporary nonagricultural workers and is suited to seasonal sales cycles. F-1 OPT and CPT are common for recent graduates. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Each pathway has different authorization timelines, so confirm which one applies to your situation before you apply.
What qualifications does Vivint look for in Sales Professional candidates?
Vivint prioritizes demonstrated sales performance over specific degree requirements for this role. Candidates with experience in door-to-door, field, or residential direct sales have a clear advantage. Strong communication skills, comfort working independently in assigned territories, and the ability to hit weekly and monthly quotas are consistently emphasized. Prior experience in home security, telecommunications, or subscription-based consumer services strengthens your application further.
How do I manage the timing between a Vivint offer and my visa authorization?
The gap between receiving an offer and your authorized start date is the most common friction point. For F-1 OPT, your EAD must be in hand before you begin work. For H-2B, USCIS must approve the petition and your start date must fall within the authorized employment period. Communicate your visa timeline to Vivint's HR team immediately after the offer so they can align your start date with your authorization window.
