About us: webAI is pioneering the future of artificial intelligence by establishing the first distributed AI infrastructure dedicated to personalized AI. We recognize the evolving demands of a data-driven society for scalability and flexibility, and we firmly believe that the future of AI lies in distributed processing at the edge, bringing computation closer to the source of data generation. Our mission is to build a future where a company's valuable data and intellectual property remain entirely private, enabling the deployment of large-scale AI models directly on standard consumer hardware without compromising the information embedded within those models. We are developing an end-to-end platform that is secure, scalable, and fully under the control of our users, empowering enterprises with AI that understands their unique business. We are a team driven by truth, ownership, tenacity, and humility, and we seek individuals who resonate with these core values and are passionate about shaping the next generation of AI.
About the Role: We are hiring a Business Operations Associate to work directly with the Vice President of Operations and the broader executive team to build our fast-growing Public Sector team. At this stage, the biggest accelerant to the Public Sector’s success is not technology or customer demand - it’s execution and coordination at scale. This is a high-impact, generalist role at the center of our Public Sector business. You will own priorities on behalf of the executive team, translate leadership decisions into action, and build the internal structure needed to scale. The role combines strategy, business operations, and special projects. This is an ideal role for someone in the first decade of their career who aims to grow into a chief-of-staff or leadership role in operations, strategy, or general management. You would receive direct mentorship and coaching from a blended team of former McKinsey consultants, technology leaders, and government leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Own the execution of high-priority special projects across the growth, product, operations, delivery, and engineering functions.
- Translate leadership direction into clear workstreams, then track progress against goals, surface risks early, and help teams stay on track.
- Help run core operating cadences, including weekly reviews, leadership syncs, and planning cycles.
- Develop the strategy-setting insights and analytics that drive key decisions across the leadership team and its stakeholders.
- Identify gaps in existing systems and implement lightweight, scalable solutions.
Qualifications:
- 3-6+ years of experience in consulting, operations, or similar generalist roles.
- Demonstrated interest in the national security community, public sector organizations, and/or mission-driven technology.
- High ownership mindset and capacity to operate in ambiguity.
- Creative and gritty problem-solving skills, with the analytic ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with an executive audience in mind.
Preferred Skills:
- Startup experience is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with AI/tech companies.
- Technical background (academic or work experience).
We at webAI are committed to living out the core values we have put in place as the foundation on which we operate as a team. We seek individuals who exemplify the following:
- Truth - Emphasizing transparency and honesty in every interaction and decision.
- Ownership - Taking full responsibility for one's actions and decisions, demonstrating commitment to the success of our clients.
- Tenacity - Persisting in the face of challenges and setbacks, continually striving for excellence and improvement.
- Humility - Maintaining a respectful and learning-oriented mindset, acknowledging the strengths and contributions of others.
Benefits: We strive to provide competitive benefits to all employees. The benefits listed in this posting generally apply to U.S.-based employees. For employees hired outside the United States, benefits may vary based on local law, country-specific requirements, and the employment platform or entity through which the employee is hired.

Target roles at the intersection of AI and engineering
webAI's sponsorship activity centers on technical talent in artificial intelligence and software development. Focus your application on roles like machine learning engineer, AI researcher, or software architect where your skills align directly with the company's core product work.
Understand the H-1B timeline before you apply
webAI sponsors H-1B visas, which means your start date depends on the annual lottery in March and an October 1 start. Factor this into your job search timeline, especially if your current work authorization has an expiration date approaching.
Emphasize domain expertise in AI or machine learning
In a specialized field like AI, technical depth matters more than breadth. Highlight published research, open-source contributions, or production AI systems you've built. webAI is looking for candidates who can contribute immediately to cutting-edge technical problems.
Look for verified sponsorship history before applying
Not every AI company sponsors visas consistently. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your effort on companies like webAI that have a documented track record rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Prepare to discuss your specialty occupation clearly
H-1B approval requires demonstrating your role is a specialty occupation requiring a relevant degree. For webAI, this means articulating how your specific technical background in AI, computer science, or a related field directly ties to the responsibilities of the role you're applying for.
Engage early in the hiring cycle
Because H-1B sponsorship involves significant lead time, companies in the Technology & Software space prefer to identify and extend offers well before the March registration window. Reaching out and interviewing in the fall or early winter gives both sides the most flexibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does webAI sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, webAI sponsors H-1B visas for qualified international candidates. The company operates in the artificial intelligence and software space, where demand for specialized technical talent frequently leads to visa sponsorship. If you hold a relevant degree in computer science, AI, or a related field and are targeting a technical role, webAI is a legitimate sponsorship option worth pursuing.
Which roles at webAI are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
Sponsorship at webAI is concentrated in technical positions that directly support the company's AI and software products. Roles in machine learning, software engineering, AI research, and data science are the strongest candidates. These positions align with the specialty occupation standard the H-1B requires, where a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is a genuine prerequisite.
How do I know if webAI is actively sponsoring visas right now?
Migrate Mate tracks verified sponsorship data so you can see which companies have an active history of filing H-1B petitions. Rather than relying on job descriptions that may or may not mention sponsorship, you can use Migrate Mate to filter for employers like webAI with a confirmed track record, and browse open roles that are realistically accessible to international candidates.
How do I time my application to webAI around the H-1B lottery?
The H-1B lottery registration opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected candidates. If you want to begin working at webAI through an H-1B, you'll need a job offer in hand before the registration window opens. Aim to begin interviewing in the fall or winter of the year prior so there's enough runway to complete the process before the deadline.
What should I include in my application to stand out at webAI?
webAI operates in a technically demanding space, so your application should lead with concrete evidence of AI or software engineering expertise. Published work, GitHub contributions, production systems you've shipped, or research in relevant areas all carry weight. Because H-1B sponsorship requires a clear tie between your degree and the role, also make sure your resume clearly reflects your academic background in a directly related field.
