Frame Healthcare Terminology in Your Resume
WellSpan Customer Service roles center on patient intake, insurance verification, and care coordination. Align your resume language to these functions specifically, not generic service language, so hiring managers can quickly confirm you understand the healthcare workflow context.
Distinguish Your Visa Type Early in Applications
WellSpan sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B and TN. Clarify your current status and what sponsorship you need in your cover letter. Leaving it ambiguous delays internal HR routing and can cost you consideration before a recruiter ever reviews your application.
Target Roles Tied to Specific Facilities
WellSpan operates hospitals and care sites across York, Adams, and Lancaster counties. Apply to postings tied to a specific facility rather than system-wide openings, as facility-level hiring managers often move faster and have more direct authority over sponsorship decisions for Customer Service positions.
Verify Your OPT or CPT Timeline Before Applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorized period covers WellSpan's typical hiring timeline, which can run several weeks from application to offer. USCIS OPT extensions require a timely STEM application, so check your I-20 end date before submitting.
Ask HR Directly About the PERM Process for EB Roles
WellSpan has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, which require a DOL PERM labor certification before petition filing. For Customer Service roles, ask your recruiter specifically whether the position has been cleared for PERM sponsorship, since not every posting at the same job title will qualify.

Find Customer Service at WellSpan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WellSpan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Service?
Yes, WellSpan Health has an established record of sponsoring H-1B visas, including for roles within its Customer Service and patient support functions. H-1B sponsorship for Customer Service positions typically requires that the role meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria, so the specific job duties and your educational background both matter when HR assesses eligibility for sponsorship.
How do I apply for Customer Service jobs at WellSpan Health?
Applications go through WellSpan Health's careers portal, where postings are organized by location and department. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse WellSpan's open Customer Service positions filtered by visa sponsorship type, which is faster than reviewing each posting individually. Prepare to answer immigration status questions during the initial HR screening call.
Which visa types does WellSpan Health commonly sponsor for Customer Service roles?
WellSpan has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For Customer Service positions specifically, H-1B and TN are the most commonly applicable categories, though eligibility depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific duties of the role you're applying to.
What qualifications does WellSpan Health expect for Customer Service roles?
WellSpan Customer Service positions typically require experience in patient-facing environments, familiarity with electronic health record systems, and strong communication skills suited to insurance verification, scheduling, or care coordination workflows. Roles that qualify for H-1B sponsorship generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as healthcare administration, business, or communications.
How do I time my application given WellSpan's sponsorship and USCIS filing calendar?
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an April 1 filing window for an October 1 start date, so applications to WellSpan ideally begin in the preceding fall or early winter to allow time for an offer, LCA certification through DOL, and petition preparation. Cap-exempt categories like TN or an H-1B transfer from another sponsor do not follow this calendar and can proceed year-round.
