Align your credentials to consulting project work
Westwood operates in environmental and infrastructure consulting, so frame your Plant Engineer experience around project-based delivery, multi-site oversight, and regulatory compliance. Resumes that read like internal facility roles are harder for consulting firms to justify sponsoring.
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires a direct nexus between your degree field and the Plant Engineer role. If your degree is in a related but non-engineering discipline, gather supporting documentation showing how your coursework and experience satisfy the specialty occupation threshold before applying.
Target open roles across Westwood's geographic footprint
Westwood posts Plant Engineer roles across multiple states tied to active project pipelines. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by location and visa type so you're applying where sponsorship has already been used for this role category.
Ask about LCA status before your final interview round
For H-1B sponsorship, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application before USCIS can adjudicate the petition. Confirming that Westwood's legal team has initiated this step early prevents offer-to-start delays that catch both sides off guard.

Find Plant Engineer at Westwood Professional Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Plant Engineers?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Plant Engineers. As a consulting firm with active infrastructure and environmental project work, Westwood has used employer-sponsored visa pathways for technical engineering roles. H-1B sponsorship requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which Plant Engineer roles in consulting typically meet when a specific engineering degree is required.
How do I apply for Plant Engineer jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse open Plant Engineer roles at Westwood Professional Services directly through Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're not sifting through listings that won't support your status. Once you identify a relevant role, apply through Westwood's careers portal with a resume tailored to consulting project environments and a clear summary of your current visa status and work authorization timeline.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services use for Plant Engineer roles?
Westwood sponsors Plant Engineers through several pathways including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card categories EB-2 and EB-3. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and current status. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals and is often faster for project-driven consulting timelines, while H-1B and Green Card sponsorship suit longer-term placements.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Plant Engineer roles?
Westwood's Plant Engineer roles in consulting typically require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, or environmental engineering. Practical experience with plant systems, regulatory compliance, or multi-site project work is valued. Since these are consulting positions rather than in-house facility roles, candidates who can communicate technical findings to clients and manage deliverables across project phases tend to be competitive.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Plant Engineer role at Westwood?
Timeline depends on the visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be approved at the port of entry on your start date. H-1B sponsorship under the standard cap requires USCIS lottery selection in April and an October 1 start, though cap-exempt situations differ. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification typically takes one to three years from the initial DOL filing to approval.
