SUMMARY OF POSITION
Kinsley is seeking experienced Carpenters, Concrete Workers, and Millwright personnel to join our growing team in Hagerstown, MD. Work includes concrete foundations, industrial renovations, and in-plant work such as framing, demolition, and installations, as well as mechanical services like machinery moving, facility relocations, welding, fabrication, and material handling system installation.
Employees will be based out of Kinsley's Hagerstown, MD office but travel in the mid-Atlantic region for projects will be required. Kinsley will provide hotels and transportation for this required work-related travel. When you work for Kinsley, your time and travel matter. Our competitive wages and Incentive Zone Pay program help ensure employees are fairly compensated based on where the work takes them. Kinsley offers an Incentive Zone Pay program for hourly field employees, providing additional hourly compensation based on the distance traveled from an employee’s home address to the job site (up to $5.00/hour), on top of base wages.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
CONSTRUCTION CARPENTER
- Handling of wood, plastic, and other material.
- Install windows, doors, cabinets, flooring and other various fixtures.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards and ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with bracing, scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Works on concrete foundations.
- Follow blueprints and building plans.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Construct building frameworks- both metal and wood- including walls, floors, and door frames.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
CONCRETE WORKER
- Use and/or assist with instruments for precise layout.
- Perform excavation and backfill.
- Non CDL truck driving is required.
- Perform formwork, placement of anchor bolts and placement of embeds.
- Perform placement of rebar.
- Perform placement of concrete including large mass pours, foundations, formed piers, formed walls, supported slabs and small areas of slab on grade.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
MILLWRIGHT
- Use instruments for precise layout.
- Perform rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation and loading/unloading trucks.
- Perform steel erection including shake out, connections and detail work.
- Perform installation of miscellaneous metals.
- Perform installation of conveyors, dryers, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform installation of equipment and piping in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
- Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting.
- Working at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc. is required.
- Must be willing to work some weekends as needed for client shutdowns.
- Must be willing to travel for “out of town” jobs as needed and some will require overnight stay.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Ability to operate man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, etc. is a plus for the Millwright position.
- Must be familiar with working around cranes and hand signals for the Millwright position.
- Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations.
- Willingness to multitask and strong communications skills are required.
- Comprehension of construction drawings is required for the Concrete Worker position.
- Basic math skills to properly measure for the number of materials needed for the Carpenter position.
- Knowledge of use with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives as well as various hand and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, sanders, tape measures, squares, levels, brooms etc for the Carpenter position.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Must have transportation to get to assigned job sites.
- Must be reliable to get to work on time, ready with all tools to do a day of good work.
- Must be willing to travel and stay overnight.
