Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial civil site development.
- You have extensive experience estimating underground utility work, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
- You are detail-oriented and thrive on producing accurate, competitive estimates.
- You are an analytical problem solver who enjoys evaluating plans, specifications, and project risks.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate well with project teams, vendors, and clients.

What You'll Do Each Day:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial civil site development projects.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Estimate costs for:
- Earthwork.
- Grading.
- Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm).
- Paving.
- Concrete.
- Erosion control.
- Site improvements.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, constructability concerns, and project risks.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, and bid packages.
- Maintain current labor, equipment, and material pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and occasional site visits.
- Coordinate project turnover with project management after project award.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
- Track bid results and identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
- Support budgeting, conceptual estimating, and value engineering efforts when needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in civil site development.
- Proven experience estimating underground utility and site development projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial civil construction means and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing quantity takeoffs.
- Proficiency with:
- HCSS HeavyBid.
- AGTEK.
- Bluebeam.
- Microsoft Excel.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
