Entry Level Construction Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level construction job?
Start by highlighting any hands-on experience you have, whether from a vocational program, internship, summer labor work, or a related trade course. Employers at this level look for candidates who show up reliably, follow safety protocols, and are willing to learn on the job. A basic OSHA 10 certification and a clean driver's license can give you a real edge over other entry level applicants.
Which companies hire entry level constructions?
Companies hiring entry level constructions right now include Jobot, Kiewit, and Groundworks, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a broad mix of general contractors, specialty subcontractors, and large residential and commercial builders actively building out their field crews.
Are there remote entry level construction jobs?
Yes, though most construction roles are on-site by nature. About 10% of entry level construction openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, typically covering office-based roles like project coordinator, estimating assistant, or construction management trainee rather than field positions.
Are these new grad construction jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles suited to candidates just entering the field. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or vocational training in place of full-time history, or explicitly invites candidates with a relevant degree or trade certification and no prior employer.
Which industries hire the most entry level constructions?
Entry Level construction roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because ongoing project pipelines, labor demand, and workforce growth create consistent openings for candidates who are new to the trade.
