Entry Level Electrical Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level electrical technician job?
Start by building hands-on experience through internships, co-ops, or vocational programs, since most employers at this level prioritize practical skills over years on the job. Certifications like OSHA 10, NCCER, or a state electrical trainee license signal job-readiness. Tailor your resume to each posting by matching your coursework and lab experience to the specific duties listed, and be ready to demonstrate basic wiring, troubleshooting, and safety knowledge in a skills assessment.
Which companies hire entry level electrical technicians?
Companies hiring entry level electrical technicians right now include Great Lakes Petroleum, Jobot, and Georgia-Pacific, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including industrial manufacturers, utilities, construction contractors, and facilities management firms that bring on junior technicians to support maintenance and installation teams.
Are there remote entry level electrical technician jobs?
Yes, though most electrical technician work is hands-on and site-dependent. About 0% of entry level electrical technician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles tend to focus on technical support, documentation, or systems monitoring rather than physical installation or maintenance work.
Are these new grad electrical technician jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior electrical technician roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-op hours toward the requirement, or lists a relevant degree or vocational certificate as sufficient. Look for language like "training provided" or "will consider new graduates" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level electrical technicians?
Entry Level electrical technician roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Energy, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the junior level because they run large maintenance programs, capital construction projects, or production facilities that depend on a steady pipeline of trained entry level technicians.
