Entry Level HVAC Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level hvac job?
Start by completing a vocational program, apprenticeship, or community college certificate in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Entry level employers at this stage look for EPA 608 certification, hands-on coursework, and any internship or co-op experience. Applying to companies that explicitly post apprentice or helper roles is the most direct path, since those postings are built for candidates with zero to two years of experience.
Which companies hire entry level hvacs?
Companies hiring entry level hvacs right now include Johnson Controls, Jobot, and ENFRA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from regional contractors, national service chains, and property management companies that run structured apprenticeship or helper programs for candidates just starting out.
Are there remote entry level hvac jobs?
Yes, though remote options are limited for a hands-on trade. About 0% of entry level hvac openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles typically involve technical support, dispatch coordination, or equipment quoting rather than installation or service work. Most entry level positions require on-site presence.
Are these new grad hvac jobs?
Yes. The openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience. A new grad friendly posting typically accepts an internship, apprenticeship, or vocational certificate in place of full work history, and some explicitly list a portfolio of coursework or hands-on training as a qualifying substitute for prior employment.
Which industries hire the most entry level hvacs?
Entry Level hvac roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Consulting & Professional Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they run large building inventories or service fleets that rely on a steady pipeline of trained junior technicians and apprentices to meet ongoing maintenance and installation demand.
