Entry Level Technical Support Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level technical support technician job?
Employers hiring at this level look for hands-on experience with common operating systems, ticketing tools, and basic networking concepts, which you can demonstrate through a home lab, IT certifications like CompTIA A+, or internship work. A clear resume that highlights troubleshooting projects and customer communication skills gives entry level candidates a real edge over applicants with only coursework listed.
Which companies hire entry level technical support technicians?
Companies hiring entry level technical support technicians right now include Verkada, Jack Henry & Associates, and ServiceTitan, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. A wide range of employers hire at this level, from large enterprises with structured IT help desk programs to growing mid-size companies looking for adaptable candidates to join small support teams.
Are there remote entry level technical support technician jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain common for this experience level. About 38% of entry level technical support technician openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility do have real options. Remote roles at this level often support internal employees or software users and typically require reliable internet and strong written communication skills.
Are these new grad technical support technician jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior technical support technician roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is new grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or labs toward the requirement, or accepts a portfolio of self-directed projects in place of full-time history. If a listing lists experience as preferred rather than required, that is a strong signal for new grads to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level technical support technicians?
Entry Level technical support technician roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they run large internal IT environments or customer-facing software products that require consistent first-line support staffed by candidates willing to learn on the job.
