Entry Level Elevator Inspector Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level elevator inspector job?
Most entry level elevator inspector roles require completing a state-approved apprenticeship or a relevant technical program in electrical, mechanical, or construction technology. Candidates who have hands-on experience through an apprenticeship, vocational training, or a related internship stand out at this stage. Familiarity with safety codes such as ASME A17.1 and holding or pursuing a state inspector license also gives early-career applicants a clear edge.
Which companies hire entry level elevator inspectors?
Companies hiring entry level elevator inspectors right now include Bureau Veritas, State of New Mexico, and Metro Elevator, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from elevator contracting firms, third-party inspection companies, and state or local government agencies that need inspectors to support growing inspection caseloads.
Are there remote entry level elevator inspector jobs?
Yes, though most inspection work is inherently on-site given the physical nature of the role. About 0% of entry level elevator inspector openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve administrative, documentation, or code-review duties rather than field inspections. Candidates open to on-site work will find the broadest range of openings.
Are these new grad elevator inspector jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior elevator inspector roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically notes that it accepts zero to two years of experience, values apprenticeship completion or vocational coursework, and does not require a long employment history before applying.
Which industries hire the most entry level elevator inspectors?
Entry Level elevator inspector roles concentrate in Government & Public Sector and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because ongoing construction activity, aging building infrastructure, and tightening safety compliance requirements all create steady demand for inspectors who can be trained and certified at the start of their careers.
