Entry Level Construction Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level construction technician job?
Focus on hands-on experience first: internships, co-ops, or vocational coursework signal to employers that you can work safely on a job site. Certifications like OSHA 10 or a relevant technical credential give entry level candidates a concrete edge. Tailor your resume to highlight field exposure, even from school projects, and apply to openings that explicitly list zero to two years of experience as acceptable.
Which companies hire entry level construction technicians?
Companies hiring entry level construction technicians right now include Terracon Consultants, Olsson, and Rentokil North America, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from general contractors, infrastructure firms, and specialty trade companies that build entry level roles into their workforce development pipelines.
Are there remote entry level construction technician jobs?
Yes, though most roles in this field are on-site by nature. About 6% of entry level construction technician openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions typically involve inspection reporting, documentation, or project coordination work rather than direct field labor. On-site roles remain the most common path for candidates starting out.
Are these new grad construction technician jobs?
Yes, the openings listed here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior construction technician roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or co-op work in place of full-time history, or asks for a portfolio of relevant projects. If a listing does not require prior employment, it is designed for candidates entering the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level construction technicians?
Entry Level construction technician roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because ongoing infrastructure projects, commercial builds, and facility expansion create a steady demand for technicians who can grow into specialized roles over time.
