Entry Level Construction Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level construction manager job?
Entry level construction manager employers look for candidates with a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, plus any hands-on experience from internships, co-ops, or volunteer build projects. Familiarity with project scheduling software, blueprint reading, and OSHA safety standards gives candidates a clear edge. A portfolio showing site work or academic projects helps you stand out when your resume is short on professional experience.
Which companies hire entry level construction managers?
Companies hiring entry level construction managers right now include Jobot, Terracon Consultants, and Dennis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including national general contractors, regional homebuilders, infrastructure firms, and commercial development companies that actively recruit recent graduates into junior site and project roles.
Are there remote entry level construction manager jobs?
Yes, though most construction management work is on-site by nature. About 8% of entry level construction manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering administrative, estimating, or coordination duties rather than field supervision. Candidates open to hybrid arrangements will find more options in larger firms that separate office-based project support from on-site management responsibilities.
Are these new grad construction manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior construction manager roles. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes candidates with zero to two years of professional experience and treats internships, co-op placements, or a strong academic project portfolio as qualifying credentials. Look for language like "entry level," "new grad," or "recent graduates encouraged to apply" in the job description to confirm a posting fits your stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level construction managers?
Entry Level construction manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely on a steady pipeline of junior managers to support project growth, handle field coordination, and develop into senior roles as large-scale builds and infrastructure investments continue to expand.
