Construction Project Manager Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's commercial construction boom along Camelback Road and the I-10 and Loop 101 corridors, where general contractors, civil engineering firms, and large-scale residential developers concentrate most of their hiring. Candidates with experience managing ground-up commercial builds, multifamily projects, or public infrastructure give themselves a strong edge. Familiarity with Arizona's desert construction conditions and local subcontractor networks also stands out to Phoenix hiring managers.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Phoenix?
Employers hiring construction project managers in Phoenix right now include Graycor, Lease Crutcher Lewis, and Mortenson Construction, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's active pipeline of commercial, healthcare, and mixed-use developments draws a wide range of general contractors, specialty trade firms, and regional development companies to the market.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, but they are limited, since construction project management is largely a site-dependent role requiring on-the-ground oversight. About 13% of construction project manager openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve pre-construction planning, owner's representative work, or program management for developers who run multiple Phoenix-area projects from a central office.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is through assistant project manager or field engineer roles at mid-size general contractors working on the Valley's large residential and commercial pipelines. Firms building multifamily housing in Tempe or Mesa and civil contractors on ADOT and City of Phoenix infrastructure projects regularly hire entry-level candidates. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field helps, and an internship with a Phoenix-area contractor converts to full-time offers more often than not.
Which industries hire the most construction project managers in Phoenix?
Phoenix construction project manager roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Consulting & Professional Services, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's rapid population growth, ongoing healthcare campus expansions across the Valley, and large-scale infrastructure investment from the City of Phoenix and ADOT keep demand consistently high across those sectors.
