INTRODUCTION
Mantis Innovation provides managed facility services and turnkey program management with technology-enabled solutions that target the entire building footprint. We look at the entire facility—inside and out—and can impact 70% of what a building operator allocates critical budget dollars toward, including: Strategic electricity and natural gas procurement, renewable energy, and demand response; climate impact reduction and reporting, net zero strategies, and sustainability planning; roofing, solar, HVAC assessment management, pavement, building envelope, data center optimization, and EV charging; lighting/LED retrofits, HVAC/mechanical systems, and BMS/BAS improvements and implementation.
The Project Manager leads roofing, building envelope, and construction projects from start to finish, making sure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the client's expectations. Tips for Your Construction Project Manager Job Search
Quantify project scope on your resume
Hiring managers scan for dollar values, square footage, and team size. Replace vague bullets like 'managed construction projects' with specifics: the contract value, number of subcontractors you coordinated, and whether the project came in on schedule and budget.
List certifications before your degree
PMP, CCM, and OSHA 30 carry more weight than a degree alone for most construction PM roles. Put active certifications in a dedicated line near the top of your resume so they clear any automated screening filter before a recruiter reads further.
Filter openings by project delivery method
Job postings for design-build firms, general contractors, and owners' representative roles require different experience. Read each listing for the delivery method (design-bid-build, design-build, CM at risk) and tailor your cover letter to match the one you know best.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists construction project manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a project portfolio before interviews
Bring a one-page project summary sheet to every interview showing two or three completed projects, their contract values, your role, and outcomes. Construction hiring managers frequently ask for examples on the spot, and a prepared sheet sets you apart from candidates who answer from memory.
Negotiate start date around project closeout
If you are finishing a project during your job search, use that timing as a negotiating point. Employers respect candidates who honor commitments, and asking for a start date that aligns with a milestone closeout signals the same discipline they are hiring you to apply to their work.
Construction Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most construction project managers?
The companies hiring the most construction project managers right now include Jobot, Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, and Dennis, with the largest share of openings in Texas, California, and Florida, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand tends to concentrate in states with active infrastructure spending and commercial development cycles.
How many construction project manager jobs are remote?
About 10% of construction project manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, which is lower than most office-based roles because active job sites require physical presence. The sub-areas most likely to allow remote work include preconstruction estimating, owner's representative roles, and program-level oversight positions where site visits are periodic rather than daily.
How do you become a construction project manager?
Most construction project managers start in a field role such as superintendent, assistant project manager, or project engineer before taking on full PM responsibility. Earning an OSHA 30 certification and learning a scheduling tool like Primavera P6 early on accelerates the path. A degree in construction management or civil engineering helps with larger general contractors, and a PMP or CCM certification strengthens candidacy for senior roles.
How do you get hired as a construction project manager with little experience?
Entry-level candidates are most competitive for assistant PM or project engineer roles at general contractors or specialty subcontractors, where on-the-job training is built into the job structure. Internships during a construction management degree program, OSHA 10 or 30 certification, and hands-on exposure to Procore or Bluebeam all help close the experience gap. Smaller regional contractors often hire emerging PMs faster than national firms.
What does the construction project manager interview process look like?
The process typically starts with a phone screen focused on your project history and software experience, followed by an in-person or video interview with a hiring manager or project executive. Expect detailed scenario questions about schedule delays, subcontractor disputes, and budget overruns. Some firms conduct a second round with a VP or regional director, and larger companies may include a site visit or a written project execution exercise before extending an offer.
Where can I find and apply to construction project manager jobs?
You can find and apply to construction project manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search for roles that match your experience level, project type, and preferred location, then apply directly to each listing that fits.
