Construction Project Manager Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Orlando?
Focus on Orlando's most active construction sectors: hospitality and resort development near the tourism corridor, commercial and mixed-use projects downtown, and the fast-growing medical and life sciences campus buildout in Lake Nona. General contractors, large owners' rep firms, and healthcare developers hire most heavily here. Candidates with LEED experience, familiarity with Florida Building Code, and a portfolio of ground-up commercial projects stand out in this market.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Orlando?
Companies currently hiring construction project managers in Orlando include Jobot, Burns & McDonnell, and Paul Davis Restoration, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's market includes a mix of national general contractors, regional developers, and large hospitality and theme-park operators with in-house construction divisions.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Orlando?
Yes, but remote availability is limited for this role since construction project managers typically need to be on-site to oversee work, coordinate subcontractors, and manage inspections. About 29% of construction project manager openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those roles tend to focus on preconstruction planning, estimating, or program management functions rather than active field oversight.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through assistant project manager or project engineer roles with mid-size general contractors working on the city's active hospitality, multifamily, or commercial pipelines. Orlando-area developers and owners' rep firms also hire entry-level candidates with construction management degrees from nearby programs. Building experience on smaller tenant improvement or renovation projects, then moving to ground-up work, is the standard local progression.
Which industries hire the most construction project managers in Orlando?
Most construction project manager openings in Orlando sit in Staffing & Recruiting and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's sustained tourism expansion, Lake Nona's medical city development, and ongoing downtown mixed-use growth keep demand for construction project managers consistently high across those sectors.
