Construction Project Manager Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Tampa?
Focus your search on Tampa's most active hiring sectors: commercial real estate development in Westshore and downtown, infrastructure and transportation projects tied to ongoing regional growth, and multifamily residential construction across the broader Tampa Bay area. General contractors, civil engineering firms, and real estate developers drive the most openings. Candidates with a PMP credential, experience managing subcontractors, and familiarity with Florida building code timelines stand out in this market.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Tampa?
Employers hiring construction project managers in Tampa right now include Jobot, STO Building, and JLL, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tampa's hiring mix leans heavily toward regional general contractors, national construction management firms with Florida offices, and large commercial developers active in the Westshore and downtown corridors.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Tampa?
Yes, but remote opportunities are limited by nature since most construction project manager roles require on-site presence to oversee crews, inspections, and site conditions. About 11% of construction project manager openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in preconstruction, estimating, or program-level oversight roles where coordination happens off-site.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tampa is starting as a project engineer, field coordinator, or assistant project manager with a regional general contractor or civil engineering firm. Tampa's active commercial and infrastructure pipeline means firms regularly bring in entry-level candidates who hold a construction management or civil engineering degree. Pursuing an internship with a Westshore-based developer or a subcontracting firm working on Tampa Bay transit or port projects builds direct local experience that employers value.
Which industries hire the most construction project managers in Tampa?
Most construction project manager openings in Tampa sit in Staffing & Recruiting, Construction & Real Estate, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tampa's sustained commercial development, port and infrastructure expansion, and multifamily housing demand across the greater Tampa Bay region keep these sectors consistently active for project management talent.
