Construction Project Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus on the sectors driving the most activity in Jacksonville: commercial development along the Southside and St. Johns Town Center corridor, public infrastructure tied to city and county contracts, and JAXPORT-adjacent industrial construction on the Northside. Candidates with LEED credentials, experience managing subcontractors across large commercial sites, and familiarity with Florida Building Code enforcement stand out. General contractors and regional development firms tend to move fastest on hiring here.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring construction project managers in Jacksonville include The Haskell Company, Wharton-Smith, and RISE: A Real Estate Company, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring mix reflects its blend of regional general contractors, national developers with local offices, and public-sector construction firms working on city infrastructure and port expansion projects.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but construction project management is largely site-dependent, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 0% of construction project manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most flexibility found in preconstruction planning, estimating, and contract administration rather than active site oversight roles.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through assistant project manager or project engineer roles at regional general contractors working on commercial or municipal projects. Jacksonville's active development pipeline, including city infrastructure contracts and ongoing Northside industrial builds, creates consistent openings for candidates with a construction management degree or relevant field experience. Earning an OSHA 30 certification before applying gives entry-level candidates a concrete edge with local employers.

The sectors hiring the most construction project managers in Jacksonville are Manufacturing, Staffing & Recruiting, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's combination of active port infrastructure investment, commercial real estate growth along major corridors, and ongoing public works projects keeps demand consistent across those sectors.
