Construction Project Manager Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Raleigh?
Focus on the sectors driving Raleigh's growth: commercial office and mixed-use development downtown, data center and life sciences construction near Research Triangle Park, and the wave of residential and multifamily projects in North Hills, Midtown, and the Brier Creek area. General contractors, civil engineering firms, and healthcare system developers are the most consistent hirers. Candidates with LEED experience or familiarity with North Carolina building codes and permitting stand out in this market.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Raleigh?

The local market includes a mix of national general contractors with regional offices, mid-size commercial builders headquartered in the Triangle, and owner-developers managing large mixed-use and life sciences campuses.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though remote work is limited by nature for this role since most construction project managers are expected on-site to oversee crews, inspections, and daily progress. About 42% of construction project manager openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, mostly for preconstruction, estimating, or program management roles at larger firms with distributed portfolios in the Triangle.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Raleigh is landing an assistant project manager or project engineer role with a mid-size general contractor or civil firm active in the Triangle's residential and commercial buildout. Employers working on the city's ongoing infrastructure and multifamily pipeline often hire recent construction management graduates from NC State's College of Design or Engineering.
