Construction Project Manager Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project manager job in Irvine?
The strongest path into Irvine's construction project manager market is targeting the city's active residential and mixed-use development pipeline, particularly around Great Park Neighborhoods and the Irvine Business Complex. General contractors, national homebuilders, and commercial real estate developers drive most local hiring. Candidates who can demonstrate experience managing subcontractors, reading drawings, and keeping projects on schedule in fast-moving master-planned communities have a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Irvine?
Employers hiring construction project managers in Irvine right now include Kiewit Corporation, JLL, and PDS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Irvine's market is anchored by national homebuilders, large general contractors, and commercial developers who maintain ongoing project pipelines across the city's planned communities and business districts.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though with limits: construction project management is predominantly an on-site role, so fully remote positions are rare. About 33% of construction project manager openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, mostly at the pre-construction, estimating, or owner's representative level. In Irvine, the hybrid arrangements that do exist tend to cluster at development firms and program management offices rather than with general contractors running active job sites.
How can I get a construction project manager job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Irvine is a project engineer or assistant project manager role with one of the city's residential developers or mid-size general contractors working on the Great Park Neighborhoods or Irvine Company projects. These employers regularly hire candidates with a construction management or civil engineering degree and some internship or co-op experience. Familiarity with Procore or Bluebeam and any hands-on field exposure, even from a summer internship, will separate you from candidates with no site experience.
