Construction Superintendent Jobs in San Diego, CA

We're growing and we need a Field Superintendent who knows how a well-run job site looks and isn't afraid to hold people to high standards. We're looking for full-time candidates depending on experience and fit.

What the job actually is

You show up. Every day, on every site. You know what's supposed to happen that day, what's supposed to happen next week, and what could go sideways if nobody's paying attention. You catch the thing that's wrong before it gets covered up. You push subs when they need to be pushed and give them room when they've earned it. When something goes wrong on your site, it's your problem to solve. And because we build custom homes, you'll be interacting with Buildable clients on the job site from time to time. That means professionalism, clear communication, and making people feel confident in the process even when things get complicated.

Responsibilities

• Daily site visits across active San Diego job sites
• Subcontractor coordination and accountability
• Quality control inspections and photo documentation
• Punch list management
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to guide on-site execution accurately
• Document scope of work and assist in bidding and leveling subcontractor proposals
• Regular client contact and job site walkthroughs with owners
• Clear communication with project leadership, clients, and trade partners

Requirements

• Deep understanding of residential construction, custom home background strongly preferred
• Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate problems before they happen
• Experience documenting scope and managing the subcontractor bid process
• Detail oriented with a sharp eye for quality and sequencing
• Able to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels, from field crews to clients to ownership
• Knows how to read people as well as plans, and how to hold subs accountable without burning relationships
• Comfortable with digital tools for communication, documentation, and reporting
• Self-directed with the ability to manage your own schedule across multiple sites
• Takes ownership when things go wrong, doesn't point fingers
• Reliable truck or similar vehicle required, mileage reimbursement provided
• OSHA 10 or 30 a plus
• California contractor's license a plus

Pay

$60,000 to $100,000 per year for full-time, or equivalent hourly rate of $30 to $50 per hour for part-time, depending on experience. Mileage reimbursement provided.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
