Controls Technician Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a controls technician job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's manufacturing corridors near Stemmons Freeway, the commercial construction and facilities management firms in Las Colinas and Uptown, and the data center operators expanding throughout the Metroplex. Candidates with hands-on PLC programming experience, familiarity with building automation systems, and HVAC controls knowledge move quickly here. Targeting mid-size industrial contractors and facilities management companies tends to yield faster callbacks than applying only to large multinationals.
Which companies hire controls technicians in Dallas?
Dallas controls technician roles are posted by Jobot, EthosEnergy, and TDIndustries and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The Dallas market is particularly active among commercial building automation contractors, industrial equipment manufacturers, and energy companies with facilities in and around the Metroplex.
Are there remote controls technician jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though most controls technician work is hands-on and site-dependent, making fully remote roles uncommon. About 26% of controls technician openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, concentrated mostly in roles focused on remote monitoring, SCADA system support, and controls engineering design rather than field installation or commissioning.
How can I get a controls technician job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through a facilities management company or a commercial HVAC contractor that hires apprentices or technician helpers for building automation projects. Dallas Community College's electrical and instrumentation programs produce candidates that local industrial employers actively recruit. Lateral entry from electrical maintenance or HVAC service roles is common, and an EPA 608 certification or any PLC fundamentals coursework gives an immediate edge over other entry-level applicants.
Which industries hire the most controls technicians in Dallas?
Most controls technician openings in Dallas sit in Staffing & Recruiting and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas's concentration of large commercial real estate, active data center construction, and legacy manufacturing along its industrial corridors keeps demand for controls talent consistently high across those sectors.
