Mid Level Corporate Counsel Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level corporate counsel job?
Highlight the specific legal work you have owned end to end, such as drafting and closing agreements independently, advising on regulatory matters, or managing outside counsel relationships. Tailor your resume to show autonomous judgment, not just task completion. Employers hiring at this level want proof you can handle matters with minimal supervision, so concrete examples of deals closed or risks identified carry more weight than a list of responsibilities.
Which companies hire mid level corporate counsels?
Companies hiring mid level corporate counsels right now include Epic, Amazon, and The Fresh Market, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers publicly traded corporations, high-growth startups with expanding legal needs, and established enterprises managing complex commercial relationships across multiple business lines.
Are there remote mid level corporate counsel jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and practice area. About 20% of mid level corporate counsel openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much in-house legal work can be done without a daily office presence. Roles tied to litigation support or government affairs tend to require more on-site time than transactional or commercial contracts positions.
How do I move up to a mid level corporate counsel role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on progressive ownership. Early-career attorneys who consistently take projects from initial research to final resolution, develop a recognizable specialty such as commercial contracts, employment, or data privacy, and demonstrate that business clients trust their independent judgment tend to make the transition within a few years. Visible contributions to cross-functional initiatives and a pattern of handling matters without escalating every decision signal readiness for mid level responsibility.
Which industries hire the most mid level corporate counsels?
Mid Level corporate counsel roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to generate high volumes of commercial agreements, regulatory filings, and product-related legal questions that require experienced in-house counsel who can work independently rather than routing every question to outside firms.
