Cost Analyst Jobs in Austin, TX

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Austin Plant Controller, manages the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of all accounting and financial analysis functions for the Austin Manufacturing Site. This includes financial planning, general accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, governance reporting, tax, asset control and auditing. Ensures compliance to internal and external accounting standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinates the preparation and execution of financial plans and updates.
• Establishes product cost standards, spending and capital budgets.
• Compiles periodic financial reports (daily, monthly, etc.) that accurately reflect business operations and provide the basis for sound decision-making.
• Reviews all requests for capital expenditure. Establishes systems to control assets and inventories.
• Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops financial staff.
• Generates accurate financial forecasts. Prepares cost estimates for proposed and existing products.
• Work on special projects as they arise.
• Provide supervision and guidance to Financial Analysts.
• As the primary oversight of day-to-day financial requirements for the plant, this position has heavy influence on business financial decisions and controls most communication of financial information between the Austin plant and other entities. This position is also responsible for consolidating monthly financial results and the annual financial plan.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university ( Accounting, Finance Degree ) required, CPA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum five years progressive financial experience in audit, general accounting, cost accounting or financial analysis.
• 1-2 years prior supervisory/managerial experience preferred.

Work Environment

• This is largely a sedentary role.
• This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
