Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Corproate Accountant to join the firm as part of our Accountant team. Tackle these responsibilities alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities:
- Review the general ledger to validate coding for journal entries, invoices, expense report and check requests in accordance with company policy and GAAP rules and regulations
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including, but not limited to cash, prepaid assets, fixed assets, and notes payable
- Prepare monthly accruals and close entries, including accruals, prepaids, and cash transactions
- Daily/Monthly bank account reconciliations
- Post payroll journal entries in accordance with payroll processing and reconcile journal entries to payroll registers on a per pay period basis
- Verify accuracy of accounting documents or records and investigate questionable data
- Compile data and prepare a variety of reports, forms and responses
- Assist with certain Accounts Payable duties including coding invoices and reconciling vendor statements
- Produce and create ad hoc reports as requested by the CFO, Controller and Accounting Manager
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data
- Provide training to interns involved in supporting the Accounting team
- 2-5 years of Accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and understanding of basic GAAP principles
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Office and ability to quickly learn new systems required
- Strong excel skills with ability to create, maintain and edit complex excel worksheets
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to distill complex information
- Experience working in an accounting team environment
- Willingness to support multiple team members and department initiatives in addition to normal responsibilities
- Deltek Vision experience a plus but not required.
- Project based accounting experience a plus, but not required
- Prior payroll experience a big plus, but not required
This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.
