Corporate Accounting Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate accounting manager in Texas?
The standard Texas path starts with a bachelor's degree in accounting followed by earning a CPA license through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting Texas's education and experience hours. Most hiring managers in Texas expect several years of progressively responsible accounting experience, often in public accounting or at a large corporate employer, before moving into a management role.
Which companies hire corporate accounting managers in Texas?
Employers hiring corporate accounting managers in Texas right now include GlobalFoundries, 8am, and HEB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in the energy, technology, and airline sectors means a steady pipeline of openings at large corporate accounting departments year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most corporate accounting manager jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas have the most corporate accounting manager openings in Texas. Houston's concentration of energy and petrochemical headquarters drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas anchors financial services and retail corporate offices, and Austin's fast-growing technology sector has added a significant number of corporate accounting roles at both established firms and scaling companies.
Are there remote corporate accounting manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, because corporate accounting management is primarily an analytical and supervisory desk role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 71% of corporate accounting manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Texas employers have adopted flexible work policies for finance and accounting leadership. Period-end close and team oversight responsibilities are most often handled in a hybrid model rather than fully remote.
How can I get hired as a corporate accounting manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a senior accountant or accounting supervisor role at a large Texas employer and building toward management from there. Companies like ExxonMobil, Texas Instruments, and major regional banks run structured finance rotational or leadership development programs that place high-performing accountants on a manager track. Earning your CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy significantly accelerates that transition and is the credential Texas employers most consistently require before promoting into management.
Where can I find and apply to corporate accounting manager jobs in Texas?
