Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced FP&A Manager (Corporate Planning) to lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the organization. This role will serve as a key finance partner to business leaders, providing actionable insights into financial and operational performance and ensuring alignment between business plans, management reporting, and financial results.
The FP&A Manager will oversee the annual budgeting and planning process, manage consolidated forecasts and outlooks, monitor budget execution, and analyze P&L, cash flow, working capital, and key business KPIs. The role will partner closely with business units and Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, consistent financial data, and effective management of financial performance.
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and business-minded finance professional with strong financial statement expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for senior leadership. This position will also work closely with Korean headquarters and other international stakeholders, requiring strong business-level communication skills in both English and Korean. Experience in a multinational organization, Korean HQ reporting environment, and ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite is highly preferred.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and outlook process across business units.
- Develop consolidated financial outlooks and forecasts, incorporating business-unit assumptions, operating performance, and changes in business conditions.
- Partner with business leaders to establish financial targets, identify risks and opportunities, and support achievement of corporate objectives.
- Monitor budget execution and coordinate approval and corrective actions for budget overruns.
Financial & Business Performance Analysis
- Prepare and analyze management P&L reporting by business unit and project, including Budget vs. Actual and Forecast vs. Actual analysis.
- Identify key financial and operational drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Develop and monitor key business KPIs, including revenue, profitability, backlog, cash flow, working capital, and other operational metrics.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate financial performance and support data-driven business decisions.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Analyze actual and forecasted cash flow at the corporate and business-unit levels.
- Monitor working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other key cash-flow drivers.
- Identify cash flow risks and opportunities and provide analysis to support liquidity and working capital management.
Financial Reporting & Accounting Support
- Maintain accurate mapping between budget line items, accounting accounts, and management reporting to ensure consistency between management and financial accounting.
- Partner with Accounting during monthly and year-end close activities, including review of project progress, accrued costs, revenue, and other closing inputs.
- Oversee corporate SG&A allocation methodologies and review allocation criteria for accuracy and consistency.
- Support external audit requests and provide required financial analysis and supporting documentation.
Executive & Corporate Reporting
- Prepare executive-level financial reports, presentations, and analysis for senior leadership.
- Prepare and coordinate financial and operational reporting for Korean headquarters and other corporate stakeholders.
- Respond to HQ data requests and ensure timely, accurate, and consistent reporting across business units.
- Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, financial reporting, forecasting, and management information systems, including effective use of ERP and reporting tools.
- Perform other financial planning and analysis duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Required Competencies
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, annual outlook, budget control, variance analysis, and KPI analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, with the ability to connect financial results to business performance.
- Demonstrated ability to perform Budget vs. Actual and Forecast vs. Actual analysis, identify key financial and operational drivers, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with business-unit leaders, Operations, Accounting, and senior management to support financial and operational decision-making.
- Experience analyzing cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and liquidity.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and concise executive-level financial reports, presentations, forecasts, and analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Business-level proficiency in both Korean and English, including the ability to communicate financial and business information effectively with Korean headquarters and U.S. stakeholders.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in finance or accounting.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial planning, accounting, or a related finance function, with significant experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, variance analysis, and business performance reporting.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and senior management to analyze performance and support business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Korean headquarters or multinational organizations, particularly within a U.S. subsidiary of a global company.
- Experience in renewable energy, power generation, construction, manufacturing, project-based businesses, or other capital-intensive industries.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Experience with project financial analysis, backlog, profitability analysis, SG&A allocation, or operational KPI reporting.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with Power BI or other financial/business intelligence tools is a plus.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA is preferred but not required.
