Finance Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, with an MBA or CPA providing a significant edge. Texas does not require a state-issued license specifically for finance managers, but earning a CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy or a CFA charter is a common path that accelerates advancement. Candidates typically build several years of experience in financial analysis or accounting before moving into a management role.
Which companies hire finance managers in Texas?
Employers hiring finance managers in Texas right now include KPMG, Amazon, and EisnerAmper, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's dense concentration of energy corporations, technology companies, and healthcare systems means finance manager demand is spread across a wide range of industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most finance manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most finance manager openings in Texas. Houston's dominance in energy and petrochemicals drives the largest volume, while Dallas draws heavily from financial services, insurance, and corporate headquarters, and Austin's booming technology sector has made it one of the fastest-growing markets for finance professionals in the state.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many management roles, because finance manager work is largely analytical and can be done effectively from anywhere. About 22% of finance manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and reporting functions are the sub-areas most frequently offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a financial analyst or junior accountant role and building toward management over several years. Large Texas employers such as energy companies in Houston and corporate headquarters in the Dallas area regularly hire new graduates into rotational finance programs or analyst pools. Earning a CPA through the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy while working gives candidates a measurable edge when competing for their first management opportunity.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to finance manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and metro areas. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
