Finance Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in Washington?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration is the standard entry point for finance manager roles in Washington. Washington does not require a state-issued license specifically for finance managers, but holding a CPA through the Washington State Board of Accountancy or earning a CFA gives candidates a measurable edge at major employers. Most hiring managers expect several years of progressive finance experience before promoting to or hiring directly into a management title.
Which companies hire finance managers in Washington?
Employers hiring finance managers in Washington right now include Amazon, Microsoft, and CRUSOE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of global technology and aerospace headquarters means finance manager openings here tend to come with significant scope, including ownership of large budgets and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
Which Washington cities have the most finance manager jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond have the most finance manager openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the bulk of demand because they anchor the state's technology and financial services sectors, while Redmond draws heavily from Microsoft's campus and its extended supplier and partner ecosystem, making even smaller or suburban postings there tied to large enterprise finance functions.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 32% of finance manager openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role's core work translates to distributed settings. FP&A, financial reporting, and corporate planning functions are the most consistently offered as remote or hybrid, while roles requiring close collaboration with on-site operations or physical inventory tend to stay in-person.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a financial analyst or senior analyst role at a large Washington employer and building toward management from within. Technology companies in the Seattle-Bellevue corridor regularly hire new graduates into rotational finance programs that move participants through FP&A, accounting, and treasury before a management track opens. A CPA in progress through the Washington State Board of Accountancy or demonstrated proficiency in enterprise tools like SAP strengthens any application from a candidate without direct management experience.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to finance manager jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and target city, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
