Finance Manager Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in North Carolina?
Most finance manager roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics as a baseline. While North Carolina does not mandate a state-issued license specifically for finance managers, earning a CPA through the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners or a CFA designation significantly strengthens candidacy. Employers in Charlotte's financial sector and the Research Triangle's tech and healthcare industries consistently favor candidates with one of these credentials alongside several years of progressive analytical or supervisory experience.
Which companies hire finance managers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring finance managers in North Carolina right now include Advance Auto Parts, ATI, and Burlington Kia, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's concentration of Fortune 500 financial institutions, large hospital systems, and multinational manufacturers means finance manager openings are spread across a wide range of industry sectors throughout the state.
Which North Carolina cities have the most finance manager jobs?
Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro have the most finance manager openings in North Carolina. Charlotte leads because it is one of the largest U.S. banking centers, home to major financial institutions and corporate headquarters, while Raleigh and Durham benefit from the Research Triangle's dense cluster of technology, life sciences, and university-affiliated employers that each maintain substantial finance functions.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than many fields, given that finance manager work is primarily analytical and desk-based. About 67% of finance manager openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broad employer acceptance of flexible arrangements for this role. Financial planning and analysis, management reporting, and corporate treasury positions tend to be the most amenable to remote or hybrid schedules, while roles with direct team supervision or audit responsibilities more often require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst or accounting associate role at one of North Carolina's large employers, such as the major banking institutions in Charlotte or the healthcare networks in the Research Triangle and Triad regions. Rotational finance development programs at large Charlotte-area corporations and hospital system finance internships offer structured exposure. Earning a CPA through the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners while in a staff role accelerates the move into a managerial track faster than experience alone.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in North Carolina?
You can find and apply to finance manager jobs in North Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
