The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions related to the Berry Network Office entities and District entities. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accounting Processes, including:
- Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss analysis preparation for the Network Office and District Offices
- Reconciliation of the Company credit cards
- Process semi-monthly payroll for the Network Office staff and District Offices, including all reporting for HSA/FSA and 401K.
- Process semi-monthly commissions, including charging out shared expenses
- Process semi-monthly commissions for interns during the intern program
- Manage Accounts Payable for the Network Office and District Offices
- Prepare quarterly sales and use tax returns for the Network Office
- Process quarterly estimated tax payments for the Network Office entities
- Assist with collections of indebtedness payments for the Network Office and District Offices
- Partner with Home Office accountant related to month end processing and financial accuracy
- Partner with HR with new hire setup and termination for both staff and FRs
- Assist with the W2 and 1099 review and distribution
- Identify and execute process improvements
- Be the go-to person for all Financial Representatives, Interns and District staff
- Any special projects that may be assigned
- Willingness to travel to District offices quarterly
- Participate in trainings for FRs and Interns related to compensation
- Assure process and procedures are adequately documented for process efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or better in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
- QuickBooks experience desired or willingness to learn
- Financial service industry desired, but not required
- CPA, CMA desired but not required
- 2 - 3 years of experience in accounting
- The ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Highly organized with strong self-motivation and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with executive level clients
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel
