Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage core accounting functions for several healthcare companies, including but not limited to preparing payroll, journal entries, accounts payable, and account reconciliations.
Work Arrangement: This role is Hybrid and based in our Charlotte, NC office. Candidates should expect to complete several weeks of in-office training prior to transitioning to a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare payroll for clients, including HSA and 401k contributions
- Reconcile monthly bank accounts
- Prepare journal entries for daily bank transactions
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payments using several platforms
- Maintain relationships with vendors and work with vendors to resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries as requested for cash transfers
- Assist with tracking certain accounts receivables
- Scan invoices and other documents into electronic management system
- Prepare monthly or quarterly sales tax reports
- Prepare annual property tax returns
- Maintain spreadsheets to track various items as requested
- Assist with gathering information for tax preparers or auditors
- Request Forms W-9 for new vendors
- Prepare monthly client invoices
- Special projects as assigned

Education & Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable and general accounting experience required
- Healthcare practice experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge, understanding, and application of GAAP principles
- Experience with posting journal entries and creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with QuickBooks and Certify or similar platforms

- Physical requirements: Sedentary work (e.g., sitting at a desk most of the time. Walking and/or standing required occasionally).
- Visual acuity requirements: Close visual acuity (e.g., viewing a computer terminal for long periods of time). Ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness for work assigned.
