Finance Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in New York?
Most finance managers in New York enter through a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, then build several years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or corporate finance. A CPA license issued through the New York State Education Department or a CFA charter significantly strengthens candidacy for senior roles. New York employers in banking, healthcare, and media typically promote from senior analyst or accounting manager positions into finance manager titles.
Which companies hire finance managers in New York?
Employers hiring finance managers in New York right now include Amazon, JPMorganChase, and FORA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's concentration of global bank headquarters, Fortune 500 corporations, and major healthcare systems means finance manager openings appear year-round across a wide range of industries and company sizes.
Which New York cities have the most finance manager jobs?
New York, Buffalo, and Brooklyn have the most finance manager openings in New York. New York City dominates by volume given its density of global financial institutions, corporate headquarters, and media companies, while cities like White Plains and Albany generate demand from regional healthcare networks, insurers, and state government agencies that each maintain their own finance functions.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 51% of finance manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on modeling, reporting, and stakeholder communication rather than on-site operations. FP&A and financial reporting roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while treasury and audit-facing positions more often require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a finance manager role from a senior financial analyst or accounting supervisor position within the same New York employer. Large New York organizations including major hospital systems, investment banks, and corporate headquarters run rotational finance programs and new-graduate analyst pipelines that feed into manager tracks. Earning a CPA through the New York State Education Department or pursuing a CFA designation while working as an analyst accelerates that transition considerably.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to finance manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to each employer. No signup is needed to see the listings.
