Financial Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial manager in Washington?
The standard path in Washington starts with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, followed by several years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting roles. Washington does not require a state-issued license to work as a financial manager, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold a Certified Public Accountant credential issued through the Washington State Board of Accountancy or a CFA charter. Moving into management typically requires demonstrated experience leading teams and owning budgets.
Which companies hire financial managers in Washington?
Employers hiring financial managers in Washington right now include Amazon, Bank of America, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of large technology firms, aerospace manufacturers, and regional healthcare systems means consistent, year-round openings rather than seasonal hiring spikes.
Which Washington cities have the most financial manager jobs?
Seattle, Redmond, and Bellevue account for the largest share of financial manager openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive volume through headquarters of major technology and financial services firms, while Redmond reflects Microsoft's scale as a single anchor employer, and Spokane and Tacoma add openings tied to regional healthcare systems, utilities, and public-sector organizations.
Are there remote financial manager jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 30% of financial manager openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of the role. Financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, and reporting positions are the most commonly listed as fully remote, while controller and on-site accounting leadership roles tend to require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a financial manager in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a financial analyst or staff accountant role at a Washington employer and building toward management from within. Large Washington employers such as Boeing, Amazon, and Providence Health run structured rotational finance programs and new-graduate associate tracks that place candidates without prior management experience. Earning a CPA through the Washington State Board of Accountancy or passing CFA Level I signals seriousness to hiring managers and accelerates the transition from individual contributor to manager.
Where can I find and apply to financial manager jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to financial manager jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Search the listings by city, specialty, or experience level, find the roles that fit your background, and apply directly to each employer.
