Overview
Otterbein Granville, a 5 Star Rated Life Plan Community, is looking for PRN Servers to join our team. We offer competitive wages along with excellent benefits and more. Come join our fun and team-oriented work environment.
We currently have an opening in our main dining room - Bistro that is ideal for college and high school students as well as retirees that are open to working various hours.
Shifts: PRN (Bistro/Independent Living) - Hours mainly 4p-8p; every other holiday and possible weekends & PRN (Health Center) Hours - 6a-2p, 10a-7p, and 3p-7p; every other weekend and holiday.
Responsibilities: The Server position provides customer service by assisting our culinary staff with set up of the dining areas as well as serving and assisting residents during meal service. This position also keeps the dining area neat and clean at all times and helps with clean-up at the end of meal. The position also helps with meal delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have high standards of customer service and sanitation. Must also have a desire to provide service to older adults in a friendly and family-like atmosphere. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Does a Server job qualify as CPT for a hospitality management student?
Yes, if your program's catalog or curriculum plan explicitly requires practical work experience in food and beverage service. The Server role must align with your declared major and coursework. Your DSO reviews the job description and confirms the academic connection before authorizing CPT on your I-20. A position at a hotel restaurant or resort dining outlet is typically easier to justify than a fast-casual counter role.
Can I work as a Server on CPT while taking a full course load?
You can, but your total weekly hours matter. Part-time CPT is defined as fewer than 20 hours per week and doesn't affect OPT eligibility. Full-time CPT at 20 or more hours per week counts against your OPT bank after 12 cumulative months. Most F-1 students in active semesters limit Server shifts to part-time CPT to protect their post-graduation OPT.
What documents does an employer need to hire me as a Server on CPT?
Bring your updated I-20 showing current CPT authorization, your F-1 visa stamp, your passport, and your I-94 arrival record. The employer uses these to complete Form I-9. CPT authorization on your I-20 alone satisfies the work authorization requirement, you don't need a separate EAD card.
