Creative Content Designer + Photographer — Fashion / Festival Brand
Los Angeles, CA | Part-Time / Freelance to Start | Ongoing
SugarFur is a growing Los Angeles fashion brand creating light-up faux fur coats, accessories, and wearable tech for festivals, nightlife, events, and people who generally refuse to blend in.
We’re looking for a creative photographer + graphic designer/content creator with a genuinely great eye to help us elevate the visual side of the brand.
Our product is visually insane. It glows, changes colors, moves differently in different lighting, and gets a reaction everywhere it goes. We know it deserves to be photographed and presented in a way that actually does it justice.
Because of that, we do not want to work with just anyone.
We’re looking for someone who sees the product and immediately understands the potential. Someone who can see the vision behind the brand, appreciate what makes it special, and help us bring that vision to life in a way that feels elevated, intentional, creative, and unmistakably SugarFur.
We don’t want someone who just waits for a shot list and checks boxes.
We want someone who says:
“Wait .. I have an idea.”
Someone who can take what’s already in our founder’s head, add their own creative perspective, and help turn it into something even better.
This is not a super corporate role. We want someone who gets the scene — festivals, house/techno, nightlife, fashion, LA culture, content, and internet trends. Someone who can look at a product and immediately start thinking about how to shoot it, style it, crop it, and turn it into something people want.
What You’ll Help With
- Product photography for our website
- On-model fashion/lifestyle shoots
- Creative campaign photography
- Website banners and homepage graphics
- Product page graphics and imagery
- Meta/social ad creatives
- Email graphics
- Retouching and color correction
- Helping develop a more consistent visual identity across the brand
- Brainstorming shoot concepts, locations, styling, props, models, and content ideas
- Creating both polished e-commerce imagery AND fun, attention-grabbing creative
Experience shooting LEDs, neon, nighttime photography, faux fur, reflective materials, or unusual lighting is a huge plus.
Who We’re Looking For
You probably:
- Have a strong portfolio that immediately shows your creative eye
- Understand fashion and e-commerce photography
- Know Photoshop/Lightroom and graphic design tools
- Have strong instincts around composition, color, typography, styling, and visual storytelling
- Can create polished work without everything needing to be micromanaged
- Understand social media and what actually catches someone's attention
- Can bounce between clean product photography and more creative/editorial work
- Live in the LA area and can work with us in person for shoots
- Are reliable, organized, collaborative, and able to actually finish projects
- Aren’t afraid of pink, faux fur, disco balls, LEDs, weird ideas, or being a little extra
Bonus points if you actually go to festivals, shows, clubs, raves, fashion events, or are already part of the creative/nightlife community.
We want someone who understands our customer because you’re around them in real life.
The Creative Relationship Matters
This is important to us:
We want a creative partner, not just a service provider.
Our founder is very hands-on creatively and already has a strong vision for where the brand can go. The right person will be able to understand that vision quickly, help refine it, challenge it when there’s a better idea, and then actually execute it.
There should be excitement on both sides.
If you look at SugarFur and think, “I could make this look incredible,” that’s exactly the reaction we want.
About the Role
This would start as a part-time/freelance position with ongoing work.
We’re a growing startup, so we don’t have giant corporate or agency budgets yet — and we want to be upfront about that.
At the same time, this is not a one-off shoot.
We’re looking for someone we genuinely click with who can become an important part of the brand creatively. There is real room for this role to grow as the company grows.
You’ll also have much more creative freedom than you would in a lot of traditional jobs.
We actually want your ideas.
If you see something and think, “Wait, we should shoot it like THIS,” we want to hear it.
And, objectively, it’s a pretty fun job.
You’ll be photographing glowing clothes, planning weird shoots, making website campaigns, going to cool locations, creating festival content, and helping shape the visual world of a growing fashion brand.

- Your portfolio
- Instagram / creative social accounts, if relevant

And answer these two questions:
1. What part of the LA / festival / music / fashion scene are you into?
2. After looking at SugarFur, what is one creative idea you immediately have for the brand?
We care much more about your taste, creativity, instincts, and portfolio than having the perfect résumé.
