About Melleka Marketing
Melleka Marketing is a full-service marketing agency helping businesses grow through social media, digital advertising, content creation, web design, SEO, and more.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is not only highly organized, but also has strong video editing and graphic design skills. We want someone who knows how to turn raw footage and ideas into dynamic, entertaining, scroll-stopping content — not just basic cuts and transitions.
You'll be responsible for taking content from idea to creation to scheduled post, including video editing, graphics, carousels, story content, captions, and scheduling.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Please apply only if you are able to reliably commute to our office Monday through Friday.
What You'll Do
- Manage social media content for approximately 20 client accounts
- Create and schedule approximately 3 posts per week, per client across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, & Facebook (approximately 60 posts per week total)
- Create short-form videos, long-form YouTube videos, static graphics, carousels, story posts, and other social media content
- Edit raw video footage into highly engaging, dynamic, and entertaining videos designed to hold attention
- Incorporate advanced editing elements such as 3D text overlays, motion graphics, animated captions, sound effects, music, transitions, zooms, visual effects, B-roll, and other attention-grabbing elements
- Design static posts, story graphics, multi-slide carousels, promotional graphics, and branded social media content
- Use GoHighLevel to schedule and organize client social media posts
- Maintain organized content calendars and ensure posts are created, approved, and scheduled on time
- Manage multiple client deadlines, revisions, and content needs simultaneously
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is both highly creative and extremely organized. Managing approximately 20 clients requires the ability to work efficiently, stay ahead of deadlines, and quickly switch between different brands, industries, and creative styles.
Video editing is a major part of this position. We are specifically looking for someone who can create content that feels modern, fast-paced, polished, and entertaining.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous social media management or content creation experience
- Strong short-form and long-form video editing skills
- A portfolio demonstrating dynamic, engaging video editing — not just basic cuts and captions
- Experience creating Instagram Reels, TikToks, and other vertical video content
- Strong graphic design skills with the ability to create static posts, carousels, stories, and other branded social graphics
- Ability to manage a high volume of content and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with GoHighLevel is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing/design software
How to Apply
Please email your resume and portfolio/examples of social media content you've created to lexie@mellekamarketing.com with subject line: Social Media Manager [Your Name].
If you have examples of short-form videos, Reels, TikToks, graphics, or social media accounts you've managed, we'd love to see them.

Video Content Creator Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a video content creator in California?
Video content creation has no state-issued license in California, so the path runs through portfolio and skills. Most California employers expect demonstrated experience with professional editing software, on-camera production, and published work. A degree in film, communications, or digital media from a California university system strengthens applications, but a strong portfolio often carries equal weight. Building experience through student productions, freelance projects, or YouTube channels is the standard entry route.
Which companies hire video content creators in California?
Companies currently hiring video content creators in California include Amazon, Corsair, and Workato, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of entertainment studios, major tech companies, and streaming platforms makes it one of the deepest hiring markets for video content roles in the country.
Which California cities have the most video content creator jobs?
Culver City, San Diego, and Costa Mesa have the most video content creator openings in California. Los Angeles dominates because of its entertainment studios, streaming headquarters, and advertising agencies, while San Francisco and San Jose reflect demand from large tech companies and digital marketing teams that produce high volumes of branded and product video content.
Are there remote video content creator jobs in California?
Yes, and more than many creative roles, since post-production editing, scripting, and social strategy work well remotely. About 46% of video content creator openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the production pipeline can happen off-site. Roles that involve on-location shooting, studio work, or live event coverage remain largely on-site.
How can I get hired as a video content creator in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a portfolio through freelance projects, student productions, or self-published channels before applying to junior or associate content creator roles. Large California employers in tech and entertainment, including streaming companies and digital agencies based in Los Angeles, regularly hire content associates and production assistants as first roles. Adjacent positions like social media coordinator, video editor assistant, or marketing producer are common lateral moves. A strong reel and familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro gives candidates a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to video content creator jobs in California?
You can find and apply to video content creator jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
