Data Architect Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data architect in Missouri?
Missouri does not require a state-issued license to work as a data architect, so the path runs through education and vendor credentials. Most Missouri employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field, often paired with a master's for senior roles. Certifications such as the AWS Certified Data Analytics specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or the CDMP from DAMA International are widely recognized by Missouri hiring teams and help candidates stand out.
Which companies hire data architects in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring data architects in Missouri include Hillyard, TetraScience, and Commerce Bank, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare, financial services, and insurance headquarters means ongoing demand for architects who can manage complex, regulated data environments.
Which Missouri cities have the most data architect jobs?
St. Louis, Clayton, and St Louis account for the largest share of data architect openings in Missouri. Kansas City leads because of its dense cluster of financial services firms, health technology companies, and corporate logistics operations, while St. Louis draws demand from its healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and regional bank headquarters, and smaller markets like Columbia reflect university-affiliated research and state agency work.
Are there remote data architect jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data architecture is desk-based and infrastructure-focused, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 67% of data architect openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly this role has shifted away from on-site requirements. Strategic design, data modeling, and governance work are the functions most frequently done fully remote, while roles tied to on-premises data centers or regulated environments tend to require some in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a data architect in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a data analyst, database administrator, or data engineer role into architecture work. Missouri employers such as large health systems, regional banks, and insurance carriers regularly hire junior data engineers or BI developers who then grow into architecture responsibilities over time. Building a portfolio of data models or cloud architecture diagrams, earning an entry-level cloud certification, and targeting associate-level data engineering roles at Missouri technology or healthcare companies gives candidates the fastest foothold without prior architecture titles.
Where can I find and apply to data architect jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to data architect jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the ones that match.
