Data Analytics Specialist Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics specialist in Missouri?
The most direct path is completing a bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems, or a closely related field, as Missouri employers consistently list this as a baseline requirement. There is no state-issued license or registration specific to data analytics work in Missouri, so hiring decisions center on demonstrated technical skills and educational credentials. Missouri universities including the University of Missouri and Washington University in St. Louis offer programs that feed directly into local analytics hiring pipelines.
How much do data analytics specialists make in Missouri?
Data analytics specialists in Missouri earn a median of about $97,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,960 for the lowest 10% to over $151,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics specialists in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring data analytics specialists in Missouri include JBS INTERNATIONAL, SS&C, and Bunge, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare, financial services, and logistics employers creates ongoing demand for analytics talent well beyond individual hiring cycles.
Which Missouri cities have the most data analytics specialist jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Missouri account for the largest share of data analytics specialist openings in Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis drive the distribution through their dense concentrations of corporate headquarters, regional healthcare networks, and insurance firms, while Columbia's openings are largely tied to the University of Missouri health system and affiliated research operations.
Are there remote data analytics specialist jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of data analytics specialist openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves cloud platforms and collaborative tools rather than on-site equipment or physical presence. The roles most likely to be fully remote are those focused on reporting, dashboard development, and business intelligence, while positions requiring close collaboration with operational teams tend to be hybrid.
How can I get hired as a data analytics specialist in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an analyst associate or junior data analyst role, which Missouri employers in healthcare and financial services commonly post as distinct from senior specialist positions. Cerner and Centene Corporation both run structured new-graduate programs and rotational analyst tracks that accept candidates without prior professional experience. Building a portfolio of project work using publicly available datasets, earning a recognized certification in Tableau or SQL, and applying to internal transfer opportunities from adjacent roles like data entry, reporting coordinator, or operations analyst significantly improves your chances.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics specialist jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to data analytics specialist jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings across industries and experience levels. Search the roles that match your background, review the details, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No account or profile is required to see and apply to the listings.
