Data Management Analyst Jobs in New Mexico: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data management analyst in New Mexico?
Most New Mexico employers require a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, data science, or business analytics as the foundational credential. There is no state-issued license specific to data management analysts in New Mexico. Candidates strengthen their candidacy significantly with vendor-neutral certifications such as DAMA's Certified Data Management Professional or a platform credential in SQL Server or Oracle, both of which appear frequently in New Mexico job postings across government, healthcare, and defense sectors.
How much do data management analysts make in New Mexico?
Data management analysts in New Mexico earn a median of about $98,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,470 for the lowest 10% to over $139,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data management analysts in New Mexico?
New Mexico data management analyst roles are posted by CHRISTUS Health, Enterprise Mobility, and Los Alamos National Laboratory and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Mexico's defense and national laboratory presence, along with its growing healthcare network, means a significant share of these openings require or prefer candidates who can work with sensitive or regulated datasets.
Which New Mexico cities have the most data management analyst jobs?
Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos hold the most data management analyst openings in New Mexico. Albuquerque drives the majority of volume as the state's largest metro, anchored by Sandia National Laboratories, major hospital systems, and state government agencies, while Santa Fe contributes openings tied to state government IT operations and Rio Rancho draws demand from technology and defense sector employers established there.
Are there remote data management analyst jobs in New Mexico?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 17% of data management analyst openings tied to New Mexico are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the role. The tasks most likely to remain fully remote are data quality auditing, documentation, metadata management, and reporting work, while roles requiring hands-on database administration within secure government or defense environments tend to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a data management analyst in New Mexico with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in New Mexico is a junior data analyst or data coordinator role within state government agencies or healthcare organizations, both of which regularly bring on candidates with a relevant degree but limited professional experience. New Mexico's large public sector and institutions like the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and New Mexico's state IT agencies post associate-level data roles that serve as a direct bridge. Building a portfolio of SQL queries, data cleaning projects, or a personal data governance case study noticeably strengthens applications at this level.
Where can I find and apply to data management analyst jobs in New Mexico?
You can find and apply to data management analyst jobs in New Mexico on Migrate Mate, which lists current New Mexico openings in one place. Search the available roles, identify the ones that fit your background and preferences, and apply directly to the positions that match.
