- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations between physical inventory and system records. You don’t just find discrepancies, you fix the root cause.
- Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries to ensure everyone at Roblox is speaking the same "asset language". You’ll establish and maintain data governance standards, making it easy for business users to discover the data they need by documenting definitions, sources, and business rules.

Data Management Analyst Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data management analyst in California?
A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, or a related field is the standard entry point for data management analyst roles in California. No state-issued license is required, but employers across California's technology and healthcare sectors consistently favor candidates who hold vendor-neutral certifications such as the Certified Data Management Professional credential. Building hands-on experience with SQL, data governance tools, and enterprise data platforms strengthens applications considerably for California's competitive market.
How much do data management analysts make in California?
Data management analysts in California earn a median of about $113,060 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,410 for the lowest 10% to over $178,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data management analysts in California?
Employers hiring data management analysts in California right now include Apple, NVIDIA, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of enterprise technology companies, major health systems, and large financial institutions means demand for this role is spread across multiple industries rather than a single sector.
Which California cities have the most data management analyst jobs?
San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles have the highest concentration of data management analyst openings in California. The Bay Area leads because of its dense population of enterprise software companies and tech headquarters, while Los Angeles draws volume from entertainment, healthcare, and financial services firms, and San Diego's openings are shaped heavily by its biotech, defense, and university-affiliated research institutions.
Are there remote data management analyst jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 27% of data management analyst openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well-suited the role is to desk-based, platform-driven work. The tasks most consistently offered remotely include data quality monitoring, metadata documentation, and governance policy development, while roles that involve close coordination with on-site engineering or operations teams tend to require at least a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a data management analyst in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a data coordinator or junior data analyst role, which large California employers in healthcare and technology use as a pipeline for developing analysts in-house. Kaiser Permanente, UC Health system campuses, and major Bay Area technology firms regularly post associate-level openings that welcome recent graduates. A portfolio of SQL projects, a completed data governance or database administration course, and familiarity with California Consumer Privacy Act principles give candidates a measurable edge over equally inexperienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to data management analyst jobs in California?
You can find and apply to data management analyst jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employer through each listing.
