Partnerships Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a partnerships manager in California?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications followed by two to four years in a sales, account management, or business development role at a California company. There is no state-issued license required. Employers in California's technology and media sectors look for candidates who can show closed deals, managed partner relationships, or built a revenue-generating channel program, often evidenced through a portfolio or measurable results from prior roles.
Which companies hire partnerships managers in California?
Employers hiring partnerships managers in California right now include TikTok, BKF Engineers, and KPMG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's density of technology platforms, entertainment studios, and health-tech companies means the role appears across a wider range of industries here than in most other states.
Which California cities have the most partnerships manager jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose have the most partnerships manager openings in California. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area lead because of its concentration of technology platforms and SaaS companies that depend on partner ecosystems, while Los Angeles draws volume from entertainment, media, and direct-to-consumer brands that run large co-marketing and distribution partnership programs.
Are there remote partnerships manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 28% of partnerships manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves video calls, shared documents, and partner portals rather than on-site work. The parts of the role most likely to stay fully remote are pipeline management, contract negotiation, and partner enablement, while in-person time is more common for major contract signings or annual partner summits.
How can I get hired as a partnerships manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or account coordinator role at a California technology or media company, then moving laterally once you have deal exposure. Large California employers including Salesforce, Adobe, and Snap run associate or rotational programs that place early-career candidates into partnerships or alliances teams. Building a record of managing even small vendor or agency relationships, then presenting that as a partnerships portfolio, consistently outperforms a general application with no direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to partnerships manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to partnerships manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to each listing without creating an account or signing up.
